Who is Mark Kelly? What to know about the senator from Arizona and possible VP pick

Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, a Democrat, is rumored to be under consideration to serve as Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate in the 2024 presidential election. Kelly, a 60-year-old former astronaut and U.S. Navy captain, has represented Arizona in the U.S. Senate since 2020. Kelly was elected to the Senate in a 2020 special election that was held following the death of longtime Republican Sen. John McCain in 2018, defeating incumbent GOP Sen. Martha McSally. A native of Orange, New Jersey, Kelly graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 1986. He later attended the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, receiving a Master of Science in aeronautical engineering in 1994. ARIZONA SENATE CANDIDATE SAYS MARK KELLY WOULD GIVE HARRIS ‘JOLT’ AS VP Kelly became a naval aviator in 1987 and was assigned to Attack Squadron 115 in Japan. He made two deployments and flew nearly 40 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm. He received an array of commendations for his service in the military and retired from the Navy in October 2011. At the time, he wrote in a post on social media, “From the day I entered the United States Merchant Marine Academy in the summer of 1982 to the moment I landed the Space Shuttle Endeavour three weeks ago, it has been my privilege to advance the ideals that define the United States of America.” Along with his identical twin brother, Scott Kelly, he was selected by NASA to serve as a space shuttle pilot in 1996. Kelly, who took numerous trips beyond Earth’s atmosphere during his illustrious career as an astronaut, has reportedly logged more than 54 days in space. Kelly, an independent turned Democrat in 2018, is the husband of former Rep. Gabby Giffords, D-Ariz., who he married in 2007. Following the attempted assassination attempt of Giffords in 2012, Kelly shied away from public life to assist with his wife’s recovery efforts. He is also the author of multiple books, including one he co-authored with Giffords in 2012 titled, “Enough: Our Fight to Keep America Safe from Gun Violence.” HARRIS EDGES CLOSER TO TRUMP IN NEW POLL CONDUCTED AFTER BIDEN’S WITHDRAWAL In January 2013, Kelly and Giffords launched a political action committee named Americans for Responsible Solutions. The organization’s mission promoted what it believed to be solutions to gun violence with elected lawmakers and members of the public. He won re-election to the Senate in November 2022, when he defeated Republican nominee Blake Masters. Kelly is not the first astronaut to be elected to Congress. Others include John Glenn, Harrison Schmitt and Jack Swigert. He is viewed by many political strategists, primarily Democrats, as a safe move for Harris as she considers who will appear alongside her on the November ballot. Three days after President Biden announced his decision to step aside in the 2024 race for the White House, Kelly fielded questions from reporters in the hallways of the U.S. Capitol, where he was asked whether he would accept the vice presidential nomination. “This is not about me. This is about the future of this country,” Kelly said at the time. “This is a choice between Kamala Harris, who’s an experienced prosecutor, vice president, U.S. senator, [California] attorney general, and a guy who’s a convicted felon,” Kelly added. Kelly also predicted, following Biden’s drop out, that Harris “is going to win” the state of Arizona in the 2024 election.

How Vice President Kamala Harris got started in politics

How Vice President Kamala Harris got started in politics

Vice President Kamala Harris got her start in politics at age 29, when she was just out of law school, at the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, where she met a 60-year-old kingmaker: California Assembly Speaker Willie Brown — arguably then the state’s most powerful politician. Brown, while estranged from his wife, remained married. However, socially, he and Harris were seen everywhere and never denied being close. Brown appointed Harris to several well-paid state commissions: the state Insurance Commission, the state Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and later, the California Medical Assistance Commission. Harris came from a learned household. She was born in Oakland, California, to an Indian-born mother and a Jamaican-born father. Both were professors — one at Berkeley, the other at Stanford. Harris’ parents divorced when she was 7. Following her parents’ split, she moved to Illinois, then to Quebec, Canada, alongside her sister and mother. After high school, Harris attended Howard University, where she joined the debate team and claimed to demonstrate “almost every weekend.” Later, she attended Hastings College of Law, where, like many of her classmates, she failed her first attempt at the California bar exam, but she passed the second time. KAMALA HARRIS REACTS TO ANTI-ISRAEL RIOTS AT DC’S UNION STATION In 1998, Harris took a job at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, but was later demoted after opposing a measure to try juveniles as adults for felony crimes. After quitting, Harris took a job in the city attorney’s office, and with Brown’s help, raised $600,000 to defeat her former boss to become San Francisco DA. The city’s campaign ethics board fined Harris $30,000 – the highest fine ever levied at the time – for violating campaign finance limits. “I made a very conscious and deliberate decision to become a prosecutor,” she said during a 2003 debate. “I think San Francisco wants a progressive district attorney who is also effective.” As San Francisco DA, she became a controversial figure for opposing the death penalty — even for cop killers — and pursued three-strikes convictions only when they involved violent felonies. HARRIS’ SHIFT FROM TOUGH-ON-CRIME PROSECUTOR TO SOCIAL JUSTICE ADVOCATE FACES SCRUTINY FROM CONSERVATIVE GROUP After a man murdered officer Isaac Espinoza and Harris refused to pursue the death penalty, Harris received a rare rebuke from Sen. Dianne Feinstein.  “I think this district attorney made a very big mistake. As a matter of fact, if I had known she had said that in her campaign, I never would have supported her,” Feinsein said at the time.  As district attorney, Harris prosecuted marijuana crimes but rarely sought prison time. HOW VP HARRIS IS NARROWING DOWN HER LIST OF VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES 2 WEEKS BEFORE DNC: REPORT In 2010, she became the first woman to serve as California’s attorney general, where she opposed the state’s ban on affirmative action and asked the state Supreme Court to “reaffirm its decision that public colleges and universities may consider race as one factor in admissions decisions.” The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled affirmative action unconstitutional. As AG, she prioritized environmental crimes, obtaining millions in fines from oil companies for failing to monitor underground storage leaks. In 2016, she ran for U.S. senator and won by outmaneuvering Rep. Loretta Sanchez for the union and Latino vote. Harris also had the support of then-President Obama, who called her brilliant, dedicated and tough, adding, “She also happens to be, by far, the best-looking attorney general in the country.” Harris’ appeal is partly demographic, but her law enforcement background also made her an appealing running mate in the wake of the Black Lives Matter protests and rising crime in some cities. In 2019, Harris dismissed criticism of her record as a prosecutor for jailing marijuana offenders and even joked about her own previous cannabis use. “Have you ever smoked?” she was asked on the “Breakfast Club” radio show in 2019. “I have, and I inhaled. I did it, I did it, and it was a long time ago,” she admitted.  As district attorney, however, she pushed for higher bail for gun crimes and sought minimum 90-day sentences for possession of concealed or loaded weapons. Later, as a presidential candidate, Harris said she would pursue universal background checks and a ban on assault-style rifles. “I will give the United States Congress 100 days to get their act together and have the courage to pass reasonable gun safety laws and if they fail to do it, then I will take executive action,” she said during a CNN town hall in December 2019.   CNN anchor Jake Tapper also suggested to Harris that her “Medicare-for-all” proposal might eliminate private health insurance. Harris’ defense was, “The idea is, everyone gets access to medical care, and you don’t have to go through the process of going through an insurance company, having them giving you approval, going through the paperwork … let’s eliminate that. Let’s move on.” Her signature tax proposal cost an estimated $3 billion. It would have provided a $3,000 tax credit for individuals and $6,000 for married couples. She also proposed lowering pay disparities by requiring large companies to pay men and women in similar jobs equally.  Another proposal aimed at raising teacher pay by $13,500. In a 2020 campaign video she explained her economic approach, saying, “It’s about giving people the resources and the support they need so that everyone can be on equal footing and then compete on equal footing. Equitable treatment means we all end up at the same place.” As a candidate for president in 2020, Harris dropped out before the Iowa caucuses. As a candidate, some viewed her policies as too far left, where she seemed to favor big government to solve income and gender inequality.

Trump’s former doctor gives health update after shooting, calls out Wray for doubt about bullet

Trump’s former doctor gives health update after shooting, calls out Wray for doubt about bullet

A former White House doctor released a letter Friday stating that former President Trump is “rapidly recovering” following the July 13 shooting at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania and that there is “absolutely no evidence” he was hit with “anything other than a bullet.”  Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas, who took issue with testimony made earlier this week by FBI Director Christopher Wray, said “I want to reassure the American people and the rest of the world, that President Trump is doing extremely well.” Jackson, who is Trump’s former physician, said, “I have continued to monitor his health and well-being, along with his primary care physician, since the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, on the evening of July 13th. “The would-be assassin fired multiple rounds from a relatively close distance using a high-powered rifle, with one bullet striking the former President, and now the Republican Nominee for President, in his right ear,” Jackson continued. FBI WANTS TO INTERVIEW TRUMP AFTER ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT: SOURCE “During the Congressional Hearing two days ago, FBI Director Christopher Wray suggested that it could be a bullet, shrapnel, or glass. There is absolutely no evidence that it was anything other than a bullet,” he added. “Congress should correct the record as confirmed by both the hospital and myself. Director Wray is wrong and inappropriate to suggest anything else.” “As a former White House Physician for 14 years, who served during three presidential administrations, and served as the appointed physician for both President Obama and President Trump, I fully understand the global significance of this attempt on the life of the former President and the current Republican Nominee for President,” Jackson added. “As such, I want to reassure the American people and the rest of the world, that President Trump is doing extremely well,” Jackson concluded. “He is rapidly recovering from the gunshot wound to his right ear. I will continue to be available to assist President Trump and his personal physician in any way they see fit and will provide updates as necessary and with the permission of President Trump.” TRUMP RALLY BULLET TRAJECTORY ANALYSIS CONTRADICTS FBI ‘SHRAPNEL’ TESTIMONY ON CAPITOL HILL: REPORT In an interview Thursday on FOX Business’ “Kudlow,” Jackson said it was “absolutely ridiculous” for Wray to suggest that Trump might not have been struck by a bullet. “This degrades any level of credibility that this man may have had – after years of weaponizing the FBI and the DOJ against the president,” Jackson said. “It was absolutely a bullet, I examined it. There was a track of a bullet.” Jackson also praised the creation of a bipartisan House task force to investigate the Trump assassination attempt. “We don’t have any confidence in the number one law enforcement agency in this country right now. And if [Wray’s] going to come make statements like that, he better have some evidence of what he’s talking about,” Jackson said. “There was no fractured glass on the teleprompters or anything else.”

Lindsey Graham demands FBI’s Christopher Wray recant testimony, says it’s ‘clear’ Trump was hit with bullet

Lindsey Graham demands FBI’s Christopher Wray recant testimony, says it’s ‘clear’ Trump was hit with bullet

FIRST ON FOX: Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., ranking member on the Senate judiciary committee, sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray Friday morning, urging him to correct his testimony “immediately” when he said he was uncertain whether a bullet struck former President Trump in the ear at his July 13 Pennsylvania rally. Wray testified Wednesday that he wasn’t sure if it was a bullet, piece of glass or shrapnel that struck Trump in the ear while he was speaking at the outdoor rally.  “It is clear to everyone that President Trump survived an assassination attempt by millimeters, as the attempted assassin’s bullet ripped the upper part of his ear,” Graham wrote.  HOUSE UNANIMOUSLY VOTES TO CREATE TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT COMMISSION Graham said it should “not be a matter of contention,” because he has had several classified joint briefings with the judiciary and homeland security committees about the assassination attempt. “Therefore, I urge you to immediately correct your statement and acknowledge that President Trump was hit by a bullet rather than glass or shrapnel,” Graham said. “As head of the FBI, you should not be creating confusion about such matters, as it further undercuts the agency’s credibility with millions of Americans.” During Wednesday’s congressional hearing, Wray said that “with respect to former President Trump, there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that, you know, hit his ear.” Trump, who nominated Wray as the FBI director in 2017, went full blast on his former appointee after the hearing. TRUMP BLASTS FBI DIRECTOR WRAY’S TESTIMONY OF ‘SHRAPNEL’ HITTING HIM AND NOT A BULLET “FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet (the FBI never even checked!), but he was sure that Crooked Joe Biden was physically and cognitively ‘uneventful’ – Wrong!” Trump wrote on his on social media site.  “No, it was, unfortunately, a bullet that hit my ear, and hit it hard. There was no glass, there was no shrapnel. The hospital called it a “bullet wound to the ear,” and that is what it was. No wonder the once storied FBI has lost the confidence of America!” House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., also scrutinized Wray’s testimony. “We’ve all seen the video, we’ve seen the analysis, we’ve heard it from multiple sources on different angles that a bullet went through his ear. I’m not sure it matters that much,” Johnson said at the hearing. Trump was shot in his right ear at the rally and U.S. Secret Service agents swooped in to surround him, pick him up off the stage and help walk him down the stairs and into a vehicle waiting for him. FBI WANTS TO INTERVIEW TRUMP AFTER ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT: SOURCE CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP The shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot dead by the Secret Service. Two other people were injured by gunfire, and former firefighter, father and husband Corey Comperatore died at the scene while shielding his family from bullets. Horrific murder of American child ignites travel ban effort on South American country

Horrific murder of American child ignites travel ban effort on South American country

FIRST ON FOX: Republican lawmakers are calling for a “complete and total” moratorium on Venezuelan migration into the U.S. in the wake of the murder of a 12-year-old girl in Texas, allegedly by two Venezuelan illegal immigrants. In a letter, led by Rep. Troy Nehls, R-Texas, they raise concerns about “violent criminals from Venezuela being released from prisons, embedding themselves into migrant caravans, and traversing into the United States.”  Nehls has written to Mayorkas before about reports that Venezuela is releasing criminals from jails and sending them north to the border. He wrote again in February 2024, warning about the presence of Venezuelan migrant gangs in cities across America. VENEZUELAN MIGRANTS’ BARBARIC CRIMES COME AS MADURO REFUSES TO TAKE BACK ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS Now, Nehls and colleagues are writing in the wake of the killing of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray in Houston, Texas. Two illegal immigrants, Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21, and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, face capital murder charges in her death. They are accused of luring her under a bridge, tying her up and killing her before throwing her body into a river.  Officials confirmed the accused men were in the country illegally. Martinez had been apprehended by Border Patrol in March, and Pena had been apprehended in May. Both were released on an order of recognizance pending their immigration court hearings.  Republicans, including Nehls and his colleagues, have blamed the Biden administration’s policies for deaths at the hands of illegal immigrants. BIDEN UNDER PRESSURE AFTER COUNTRIES REFUSE TO TAKE BACK ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS: ‘NATIONAL SECURITY CONCERN’  “If you had heeded the warnings in our prior letters, Jocelyn Nungaray, and others, could still be alive. That is not a matter of opinion. It is a fact,” they say. They then urge Mayorkas to prevent Venezuelan nationals from entering the U.S. “and immediately deport those you have released pending immigration proceedings.” VENEZUELA REPORTEDLY SCRAPS US DEAL TO DEPORT ILLEGAL MIGRANTS AS SOME COMMIT CRIMES TO BE DEPORTED “Finally, in the strongest of terms, we implore you to initiate a complete and total moratorium on all Venezuelan migration until they agree to cooperate with deportation requests. Americans have suffered enough at the hands of the Biden Administration,” they say. Officials are currently limited from deporting illegal immigrants to Venezuela after the country in January stopped accepting deportation flights from the U.S. and Mexico. The socialist regime had started accepting returns of migrants, whose numbers coming to the U.S. border spiked in 2023, in October. Other lawmakers on the letter are Reps. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., Randy Weber, R-Texas, and Pete Stauber, R-Minn. The ongoing border crisis is a top issue for voters ahead of the November election. The Biden administration has pushed back against Republican criticism, saying it needs more funding and comprehensive immigration reform from Congress to fix what it says is a “broken” system.  It has recently pointed to a more than 50% drop in illegal immigrant crossings since President Biden announced an executive order last month limiting crossings into the U.S. It also says the number of releases has decreased by 70%. Officials also say the administration has removed and returned more than 50,000 individuals to more than 100 countries.

Kamala Harris supported ‘Defund the police’ in 2020 radio interview, before Biden campaign said otherwise

Kamala Harris supported ‘Defund the police’ in 2020 radio interview, before Biden campaign said otherwise

A recently unearthed video has captured then-Sen. Kamala Harris voicing support for the “defund the police” movement in 2020, despite the Biden campaign saying otherwise just months later after she joined the Democratic presidential ticket.  Harris, speaking to the “Ebro in the Morning!” radio program on New York City-based HOT 97, said, “This whole movement is about rightly saying we need to take a look at these budgets and figure out whether it reflects the right priorities.”  “Defund the police, the issue behind it is that we need to reimagine how we are creating safety. And when you have many cities that have one third of their entire city budget focused on policing, we know that is not the smart way and the best way or the right way to achieve safety,” Harris began by saying on the June 9, 2020, radio show.  At the time, the “defund the police” movement was gaining national momentum following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis only weeks earlier. NEW POLL SHOWS TRUMP, HARRIS TIED IN KEY BATTLEGROUND STATE: ‘CLOSE AS CLOSE CAN BE’  “For too long, the status quo thinking has been, you get more safety by putting more cops on the street. Well, that’s wrong. Because by the way, if you want to look at upper middle-class suburban neighborhoods, they don’t have that patrol car. They don’t have those police walking those streets. But what they do have? They have well-funded schools. What they do have is homeownership, high homeownership rates. What they do have are thriving small businesses. What they do have is access to public health and mental health services,” Harris said during the show.  “So, this whole movement is about rightly saying we need to take a look at these budgets and figure out whether it reflects the right priorities. When, today in America, two thirds of our public school teachers are coming out of their own back pocket to help pay for school supplies when we have, for generations now, been defunding public schools but yet militarizing police departments, we need to have this conversation. And critically examine and understand that this is not working. It’s not working,” she continued.  BARACK, MICHELLE OBAMA ENDORSE KAMALA HARRIS FOR PRESIDENT AFTER DAYS OF SILENCE  “This is an important conversation and not just a conversation — ’cause to your earlier point, it can’t just be about talk,” Harris also said. “It has to be about forcing change. And this is why, you know, I was out there with folks and any movement, any progress we have gained has been because people took to the streets. And that is what we are seeing today and what gives me a sense of hope is that people who seemingly have nothing in common understand they have this in common and are marching together.”  After that interview, which was first reported by CNN, Harris was chosen to be Biden’s running mate in August of that year.  Then, in October 2020, Harris’ former press secretary Sabrina Singh was quoted in media reports as saying that “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris do not support defunding the police, and it is a lie to suggest otherwise.”  “Throughout her career, Sen. Harris has supported increasing funding to police departments and boosting funding for community policing,” Singh reportedly added.  Harris’ campaign and the White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital on Friday.

Who is Josh Shapiro? What to know about the Pennsylvania governor and possible VP pick

Who is Josh Shapiro? What to know about the Pennsylvania governor and possible VP pick

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, a Democrat, is rumored to be under consideration to serve as Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate in the 2024 presidential election. Prior to shaping headlines about the contentious 2024 race for the White House, Shapiro, 51, was elected to a four-year term as the 48th governor of Pennsylvania in 2022. Before winning the state’s gubernatorial election, Shapiro – a native of Kansas City, Missouri – previously served as Pennsylvania’s attorney general from 2017 to 2023. During his tenure as the Keystone State’s chief law enforcement officer, Shapiro targeted former President Trump’s administration with a variety of lawsuits and legal challenges. BIDEN’S BORDER POLICIES WOULD LIKELY BE EXTENDED IF THIS SWING STATE DEM GOVERNOR IS THE NEW NOMINEE Shapiro was also one of several left-leaning state attorneys general to condemn Trump’s 2017 travel ban, which was upheld by the Supreme Court and affected several mostly Muslim countries. Shapiro attended the University of Rochester in New York, where he majored in political science and won election to serve as the school’s student body president in 1992. Shapiro later moved to Washington, D.C., where he worked on Capitol Hill for former Rep. Joe Hoeffel, D-Pa., and enrolled as a student at Georgetown University Law Center. Shapiro was elected in 2004 to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Shapiro served four terms in the state House before leaving in 2012 to serve as a member of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners, of which he served as chair from 2012 to 2016. Shapiro took office as the state’s 50th attorney general in January 2017 after narrowly defeating state Sen. John Rafferty Jr., the state’s GOP nominee, in the election with 51.3% of the vote. He was re-elected to the role in 2020 by an even smaller margin – capturing 50.9% of the vote to defeat Republican nominee Heather Heidelbaugh. In 2022, Shapiro sought the Democratic Party’s nomination for governor of the state. At the time, his candidacy received endorsements from term-limited Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf and other Democrats throughout the state who supported his campaign messaging on abortion and raising the minimum wage. HARRIS SNUBS ONE OF THE FEW DEMS OPEN TO BEING HER VP: REPORT Raised in a Jewish household, Shapiro is the third Jewish governor in the history of Pennsylvania. Shapiro, who is largely supportive of Democratic policies and proposals, has attempted to portray himself as a moderate in a state Trump carried in the 2016 presidential election and narrowly lost in 2020. Earlier this year, amid requests from the Republican-led State Senate to do so, Shapiro declined to send the Pennsylvania National Guard to the southern border to assist with a massive influx of migrants. At the time, Shapiro’s office insisted it was up to Congress to resolve the issue. Shapiro has also called on the Pennsylvania General Assembly to abolish the death penalty, a move his Republican critics have expressed opposition to. Shapiro is viewed by many political strategists as a safe move for Harris as she considers who will appear alongside her on the November ballot. Shapiro has already received support from several Pennsylvania Democrats to fill the role as Harris’ running mate, including Pennsylvania Speaker of the House Joanna McClinton and Philadelphia Democratic Party Chair Bob Brady. Three days after President Biden announced his decision to step aside in the 2024 race for the White House, Shapiro praised Harris, saying she had “done an extraordinary job” garnering support for the party’s presidential nomination. “For anyone calling for any open process, I’ll tell you, we had one and you know what, she kicked butt and she earned the support and she earned the nomination. And I’m proud to support her,” he added at the time.

FLASHBACK: New Harris campaign senior adviser made several insensitive comments about women, gay people

FLASHBACK: New Harris campaign senior adviser made several insensitive comments about women, gay people

The presidential campaign of presumptive Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris recently hired a senior adviser with a history of sexist messages online mocking women and gay people as well as seemingly criticizing Harris on social media during her failed presidential campaign in 2019. The Harris campaign announced earlier this week it hired Kamau M. Marshall, who has deleted thousands of old posts this week as 2024 senior adviser after he previously held positions as Joe Biden’s strategic communications director in 2020, a senior adviser for the Biden-Harris campaign and was formerly a senior adviser to Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona. Marshall’s social media for more than a decade has been littered with controversial comments, including a Christmas Eve 2011 post in which he expressed his affection for “power women” – as long as she “know[s] her place” and he can “where [sic] the pants”, Fox News Digital previously reported. In early 2012, Marshall inquired, “Are all women crazy???? Lol no offense ijs [I’m just saying].” DETROIT PASTOR SLAMS ‘IDENTITY POLITICS’ AS KAMALA HARRIS BECOMES PRESUMPTIVE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE Later that year, he opined, “Nice guys finish last because they make sure their girl comes first.” In August 2013, Marshall observed, “It’s unattractive when a girl doesn’t act classy & does not know how to control her feelings.” In 2012, he wrote: “@kimberlyjaneece I disagree-I try not look at _or impress__Personally speaking-I enjoy the challenge & I only look & talk to CLASSY Women.” LIBERAL MEDIA CLAIMS KAMALA HARRIS WAS NEVER ‘BORDER CZAR,’ CONTRADICTING THEIR OWN REPORTING Marshall has used the term “no homo” in several posts that were previously deleted and seemingly questioned the allegations of sexual abuse against comedian Bill Cosby, saying in 2015, “It’s not a coincidence that Cosby can be arraigned on allegations, yet countless police officers who gun down black bodies aren’t indicted”, Washington Free Beacon previously reported. “Bro if u see a guy around women all day more than likely he wants to be 1 or he is very fem #Imjustsaying,” Marshall said in another post. Additionally, Marshall appeared to criticize Harris shortly after a debate performance in 2019, posting a message that said, “Dear Black people: Don’t be black when it’s convenient. Be black 3365/24-7. Period.  Sincerely, a black man.” The post, which was highlighted by a former reporter from The Atlantic, and deleted shortly after it was posted following one of the contentious Democratic primary debates, received backlash on social media.  Marshall has deleted over 2,200 posts over the last few days, according to Social Blade. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP  “We often say that each election is the most critical of our lifetime, but this one is at all costs,” Marshall told ABC News about his hiring.  “I cannot emphasize the urgency of the upcoming election and how many achievements could be undone, rolling back all of the progress the Biden-Harris administration has made.” Fox News Digital reached out to the Harris campaign and Marshall for comment but did not receive a response. South Africa police say 95 Libyans detained at suspected military camp

South Africa police say 95 Libyans detained at suspected military camp

Police says Libyans entered country on study visas to train as security guards, but may have received military training. South African police have detained 95 Libyan nationals for questioning on suspicion of receiving training at a secret military camp. Police said on Friday that they had carried out a morning raid on the alleged military camp, located at a farm in White River in Mpumalanga province in the north of the country. “We are not arresting them now, but we are taking them in for questioning and will investigate any criminal activity,” said police spokesman Donald Mdhluli. “The site was said to be a training camp for a security company, but it is a military base by the looks of things,” he said, adding that the owner of the security company was a South African national. Police said the operation to arrest the Libyans and close down the camp began two days ago. Television footage from the scene showed a heavy police presence outside the suspected camp, which included green military-style tents and sandbags. National police spokeswoman Athlenda Mathe said in a post on X that the Libyans said they were entering the country on study visas to train as security guards, but police investigations suggested they had received military training. It was not immediately clear whether the 95 individuals were affiliated to any group. Libya is still riven by conflict and civil war more than a decade after the 2011 NATO-backed overthrow of longtime ruler Muammar Gaddafi. The country is divided between the United Nations-recognised government based in Tripoli and a rival administration in the country’s east. Although relative calm has returned to the oil-rich country in the past four years, clashes periodically occur between armed groups. “We take any threat to the security and stability of our province and country very seriously,” said Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi, provincial commissioner of the South African police in Mpumalanga. The investigation was “still ongoing”, said his office in a statement, underlining that there was “no immediate threat to community safety”. Adblock test (Why?)
