Republican Tim Rogers wins Wisconsin 4th district primary

On Tuesday, Republican Purnima Nath was defeated by Tim Rogers in a primary contest, setting up a face-off in November to unseat Democratic Rep. Gwen Moore in Wisconsin’s 4th district.  Rogers will have an uphill battle defeating Moore, who has held office since 2009. Wisconsin Public Radio has reported that Moore has won all of her re-election bids in landslide victories.   Nath emigrated from India and describes her work as management consulting. Rogers is a Milwaukee native and has run against Moore in 4 consecutive elections. He has never cracked 23% of the vote. Moore was one of only three Democrats in Congress in February to vote against a bill in committee that expanded the child tax credit.  2024 ELECTION RESULTS & UPDATES Wisconsin’s 4th district includes the city of Milwaukee, the host city of the Republican National Convention in July, and Moore’s hometown.

GOP Rep. Tom Emmer wins GOP primary battle for Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer defeated challenger Chris Corey in the Republican primary for Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District on Tuesday. He now goes on to face the winner of the race between Jeanne Hendricks and Austin Winkelman, who faced off in Tuesday’s Democrat primary in the district, which the Cook Political Report rates as “solid” Republican. The race pitted Emmer, the current House majority whip, and Corey, a professional golf caddy who had reportedly become disillusioned with Republican leadership.  MINNESOTA RIOTS CONTINUED AFTER WALZ TOOK ‘RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE’ THERE WOULDN’T BE CHAOS Emmer, who has represented Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District since 2015, was briefly considered for the role of speaker of the House before Mike Johnson was chosen to fill the role. The incumbent Republican also served three terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives between 2005 and 2011. Corey, on the other hand, is a political outsider who expressed frustration with establishment Republican leaders such as Emmer and vowed in a letter to the Monticello Times to limit himself to a short term in office. MINNESOTA BUSINESS OWNER TEARS INTO WALZ FOR COVID, BLM RIOT LEADERSHIP: A ‘TOTAL AND COMPLETE FAILURE’ Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District has had a Republican tilt for years, with a GOP candidate winning every House race in the district since 2002. The district, which covers Saint Cloud and extends close to suburban Minneapolis, has also consistently supported Republican candidates in presidential elections, going to the GOP candidate in every race since 2000.

Muslim cleric who praised Adolf Hitler, Hamas spoke at Harris running mate Tim Walz’s 2019 inauguration

A Muslim cleric who praised Adolf Hitler and commended Hamas after the militant group’s Oct. 7 attack on Israel spoke at the inauguration of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz in 2019.  Imam Asad Zaman, executive director of the Muslim American Society in Minnesota, shared the stage with the Democratic governor on Jan. 7, 2019.  “Thank God this team is finally going to be in charge,” Zaman said of Walz’s incoming administration. “I congratulate you for stepping forward to serve the people of Minnesota, and I remind you of the trust you have chosen to undertake. Empower them with courage to render social justice to all our people. Make it easy for them to help our people and make it hard for them to hurt our people.”  Zaman said the people of Minnesota have entrusted in Walz “their hopes and aspirations for social justice and well-being.”  “We look to you to build upon the past successes of our great state,” Zaman said. “We remind you of the many structural injustices that need to be addressed, so justice can be brought forth.”  As previously reported by Fox News Digital, Zaman, who is originally from Bangladesh, has used his Facebook page to share official Hamas press releases, blog posts from antisemitic sites and a 2015 link to a pro-Hitler film, “The Greatest Story Never Told.” Released in 2013, the propaganda film is antisemitic and popular among fringe groups, according to the Anti-Defamation League. MINNESOTA GRANDMA JAILED FOR DEFYING WALZ COVID LOCKDOWN ORDERS: ‘YOU DO NOT WANT TYRANNY AT THIS LEVEL’ The 2019 inauguration adds to the list of appearances Walz and Zaman have made together dating back to at least 2018. In April 2019, Zaman delivered an invocation at Walz’s state address and had called for an end to a government shutdown alongside Walz in January 2019, the Washington Examiner first reported. In May 2023, Zaman attended a mosque security meeting with Walz’s gubernatorial office.  Walz’s administration has also donated over $100,000 to Zaman’s group, Muslim American Society of Minnesota, according to state records reviewed by the Washington Examiner. Federal prosecutors have described the Muslim American Society as “founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in the U.S.,” according to court records, the outlet first reported.  The Harris-Walz campaign told Fox News Digital on Tuesday that Gov. Walz and Zaman do “not have a personal relationship.” “Governor Walz strongly condemns Hamas terrorism,” the campaign said.

Trump-backed Marine veteran wins GOP primary in competitive Minnesota district

Former federal prosecutor Joe Teirab emerged as the winner in the Republican primary for Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District, setting up a competitive race against incumbent Democratic Rep. Angie Craig. Teirab defeated Tayler Rahm, according to a call from The Associated Press Tuesday evening. Teirab, who was endorsed in the race by former President Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., was the better-funded candidate and was also backed by key House leaders, according to a report from The Associated Press. MINNESOTA RIOTS CONTINUED AFTER WALZ TOOK ‘RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE’ THERE WOULDN’T BE CHAOS The Trump-backed Minnesotan, who is also a Marine Corps veteran, ran virtually uncontested in the race, with his only primary opponent, Tayler Rahm, dropping out of the race last month. Nevertheless, Rahm remained on the primary ballot. According to The Associated Press report, Rahm dropped out, despite having the backing of the state GOP, to clear a path for his Trump-endorsed opponent to focus on Craig in the highly competitive district. “In my opinion, there is nothing more important for this district than getting Biden (or a Democrat replacement) out of power and getting Donald Trump back in the White House,” Rahm said in a statement at the time, just days before President Biden decided to drop out of the race. “Therefore, I will suspend my campaign operations and focus on doing everything possible to save our country.” MINNESOTA BUSINESS OWNER TEARS INTO WALZ FOR COVID, BLM RIOT LEADERSHIP: A ‘TOTAL AND COMPLETE FAILURE’ Craig, who is seeking a third term in office, ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. Minnesota’s 2nd District is rated as “lean” Democrat, according to the Cook Political Report.  Trump won the district by a narrow margin in 2016, coming away with 46.5% of the vote against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 45.3%. The district then swung to Biden in 2020, who topped Trump by just under seven percentage points. Before Craig’s 2018 victory in the district, it had been represented by Republicans since 2001.

Chris Murphy’s Republican challenger revealed after contentious Connecticut Senate GOP primary

Military veteran Matthew Corey has won the Republican primary to face Democratic Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy in the fall. Corey, who owns a bar in Hartford, Connecticut, was runner-up in the state GOP’s nominating convention in May. He previously lost to Murphy in 2018. He defeated insurance agent and small-town official Gerry Smith, who was favored by the Connecticut Republican Party.  CHECK OUT THE LATEST FOX NEWS POWER RANKING IN THE 2024 ELECTION Smith managed to outraise Corey during the primary cycle, with the latter bringing in just over $30,000 in individual contributions compared to Smith’s roughly $62,000 haul, according to campaign finance data. But Smith ended the primary cycle with less cash on hand than Corey did – roughly $4,200 compared to $32,000. The primary winner now faces an uphill climb to the U.S. Senate, however – Connecticut has not elected a Republican to the Senate since 1982, according to the CT Mirror.  CONNECTICUT POLICE OFFICERS’ FUNERAL DRAWS THOUSANDS TO STADIUM FOR HEARTWRENCHING CEREMONY President Biden won the state by roughly 20 points in 2020 over former President Trump, and there’s not a single Republican in its seven-member congressional delegation. While he’s the runaway favorite to win his seat again, the victory is nevertheless welcome padding for Democrats as they face the prospect of losing their razor-thin Senate majority.

Amy Klobuchar wins Minnesota primary to fight for fourth Senate term

Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., successfully fended off her primary challengers Tuesday and is advancing to Minnesota’s general Senate election in November. Eric Hovde wins GOP Senate nod in Wisconsin, teeing up tight race against Democrat Tammy Baldwin

Businessman Eric Hovde won the Republican nomination for Senate in Wisconsin on Tuesday, setting up a competitive general election between himself and Democrat incumbent Sen. Tammy Baldwin.  Hovde was endorsed by former President Trump in his primary race and has already spent a seven-figure sum on his campaign.  He defeated lesser-known challengers Charles Barman and Rejani Raveendran handily in the matchup. Barman is a farmer in Sharon, Wisconsin, who reportedly said he was motivated to run after the riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, that followed the police shooting of Jacob Blake.  CASEY TIED TO CHINESE FIRM HE CLAIMED MCCORMICK-LED COMPANY INVESTED IN TO ‘PROFIT’ OFF FENTANYL CRISIS “You don’t want to reward bad behavior and vote for Tammy [Baldwin],” he told Wisconsin Public Radio. “You want somebody that’s going to turn around and straighten this mess out.” Raveendran is reportedly an immigrant from India and is in her senior year at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point studying for a degree in political science as well as a certificate in international relations. She is the chair of the school’s College Republicans chapter in addition to being a single mother, per WPR. Hovde recently spoke at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where he slammed Baldwin as a “rubber stamp” for President Biden, citing her record of almost always voting in line with him. “Under President Trump, family budgets were more secure. Our border was secure. Our world was secure. Where Biden and Baldwin have failed, President Trump and I will get the job done,” he told the convention audience last month.  BLINKEN PRESSURED TO FREEZE AFGHANISTAN AID AFTER REVELATION NEARLY $300M COULD HAVE GONE TO TALIBAN Baldwin ran in the Democrat primary in Wisconsin unopposed, avoiding any challengers that might have weakened her posture going into the general election. “Tonight, I’m honored to receive the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate to continue our fight to lower costs for Wisconsin families, stand up for American jobs and manufacturing, and restore our reproductive freedoms,” she said in a statement after the Democrat primary. “While I am running to put Wisconsin families first, my opponent Eric Hovde is a multi millionaire California bank owner who has insulted our seniors, our farmers, our moms, and just about everyone else in our great state. While he runs to put the wealthy and well connected like himself first, I will always stand up for the working people of Wisconsin.” Wisconsin is one of several battleground states that could go either way in the presidential election. As for the Senate race, the nonpartisan political handicapper Cook Political Report rates the matchup as “Lean Democratic,” alongside races in Pennsylvania and Arizona. The race is one of several that will help determine which party wins the Senate majority.
