Tim Walz family members pose in t-shirts declaring their presidential preference: ‘Walz’s for Trump’

An image circulating online shows family members of vice presidential candidate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz openly supporting former President Trump. The photo was shared online by former Nebraska Republican gubernatorial candidate Charles Herbster. It shows eight people wearing “Nebraska Walz’s (sic) for Trump” t-shirts. “Tim Walz’s family back in Nebraska wants you to know something…” Herbster wrote on X.  HARRIS SLAMS TRUMP OVER ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY ALTERCATION, PROMPTING FIERY RESPONSE FROM JD VANCE A representative for Herbster told Fox News Digital that the people in the photo are related to Walz through his grandfather’s brother, Francis Walz. Fox News Digital has reached out to the Trump and Harris campaigns.  Family members told Fox News they consider themselves “distant” from Walz and have never met or spoken with him. One person in the photo who wished to remain anonymous said they are supporting Trump because “he supports our values.”   Trump replied on Truth Social to the image, implying that he plans to “meet” with Jeff Walz, the older brother of the Minnesota governor.  The older Walz posted a series of statements last week about the Democratic vice presidential nominee on social media. “I’m 100% opposed to all his ideology,” Jeff posted in one Facebook message on Friday evening, referring to his brother.  TRUMP IMPERSONATES ELON MUSK TALKING ABOUT ROCKETS: ‘I’M DOING A NEW STAINLESS STEEL HUB’ “My family wasn’t given any notice thst [sic] he was selected and denied security the days after,” he added. “Help MAGA… Get on stage with President Trump and endorse him…; Help save this country….,” a Trump supporter wrote on Jeff’s post. “I’ve thought hard about doing something like that!” Jeff responded. “I’m torn between that and just keeping my family out of it.” Gov. Walz has three siblings: Jeff Walz, Craig Walz and Sandy Dietrich.  Jeff moved to the East Coast after growing up in rural Nebraska; he now lives in Florida. He also posted about how he found out his brother was chosen as Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate.  “The only thing I took exception to, and I will stand behind this 100%, was that we felt bad that we found out about his being picked as the vice presidential candidate from radio,” Jeff said. “And we felt like we probably should have been given a heads-up and some type of security, at least for a short time, because I guess that is a big thing.”  Fox News Digital’s Andrea Vacchiano and Emma Colton contributed to this report.

Fox News Politics: Brotherly Loathe

Welcome to the Fox News’ Politics newsletter, with the latest political news from Washington, D.C. and updates from the 2024 campaign trail.  Here’s what’s happening… – Blinken subpoenaed over deadly Afghanistan withdrawal that took 13 lives – Schumer sounds off on GOP proposal  – Police say 75% of arrests in heart of NYC are illegal immigrants Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s older brother posted scathing statements about the Democratic vice presidential nominee on social media, before confirming to the media that he does not support his brother’s left-wing views but wants to keep a low-profile during the election cycle.  “I was getting a lot of feedback from my friends, old acquaintances, thinking that I was feeling the same way that my brother did on the issues, and I was trying to clarify that just to friends,” Jeff Walz, Tim Walz’s older brother, told News Nation this week. “I used Facebook, which wasn’t the right platform to do that. But I will say, I don’t agree with his policies.” Reports had mounted over Labor Day weekend that Jeff was no fan of the left-wing Democratic Minnesota governor’s policies and took to his Facebook account to make his views known to friends and family. As the media reported on the social media posts over the holiday weekend, Jeff and the Harris campaign remained silent as the New York Post exclusively published the headline: “Tim Walz’s older brother is ‘100% opposed to all his ideology,’ believes VP hopeful is not ‘type of character’ who should make decisions about US’ future.” After Jeff’s profile went viral on X, a Facebook user wrote a message on one of his public posts urging him to “[h]ave a talk with your brother,” who is currently running to be Vice President Kamala Harris’ vice president….Read more LATEST PUTIN MOVE: Biden DOJ to accuse Russia of trying to influence 2024 presidential election: report …Read more ‘SPIT IN OUR FACE’: Gold Star mom slams Biden admin for saying Trump politicized Arlington visit …Read more MORE MONEY: Harris unveils new tax proposals for small businesses …Read more SUBPOENA: 13 U.S. soldiers died during Biden admin’s chaotic operation …Read more WHAT ABOUT HAMAS?: Biden blasted for pressuring Bibi, not Hamas for murder of hostages …Read more ‘IT WORKS FOR THEM’: Vulnerable Dem senator’s resurfaced comments about Trump, his voters come back to haunt him …Read more PARLIAMENTARY PRO: Johnson sets up government shutdown war with Schumer over Trump-backed plan …Read more ‘BIPARTISAN WAY’: Schumer sounds off on GOP plan to force citizenship voting requirement into spending bill …Read more BAD NEWS, BOB: Gaps begin to close in top Senate races vulnerable Dems lose ground to GOP contenders …Read more TERROR TIES: Nancy Mace unveils bill to force Biden to declare Taliban a terrorist organization …Read more SHUTDOWN SHOWDOWN: House Republicans brace for political buzzsaw on government funding a year after McCarthy’s ouster …Read more UNDERESTIMATED: MSNBC’s Kornacki says Trump in a better spot than previous elections, despite trailing Harris …Read more SWING STATE SQUABBLE: Harris stops in key swing state that Trump says the VP and Biden ‘disrespected’ …Read more NECK AND NECK: Trump and Harris are virtually tied in key swing states, CNN polling finds …Read more 2024 ‘GROUND ZERO’: This state could determine whether Trump or Harris wins the presidential election …Read more BLIND FAITH: Democrat leads former GOP gov in Maryland Senate race, despite 1 in 3 not knowing who she is …Read more ‘IT’S CRAZY’: Police say 75% of arrests in midtown Manhattan are illegal immigrants: report …Read more BEHIND BARS: Tren de Aragua migrant gang members arrested in connection to apartment building takeover …Read more DANGER NEXT DOOR: Haitian migrant arrested after allegedly molesting 10-year-old neighbor …Read more ‘FAIR AND EQUITABLE’: California bill banning ‘legacy’ college admissions heads to Newsom’s desk …Read more CCP EQUITY: Hochul aide accused of taking CCP money had used position to parrot DEI policies in resurfaced video …Read more ‘OUT OF NOWHERE’: Blue state policies blamed after mayor sucker punched right in front of police …Read more TAR HEEL TEARS: Country star who performed free concert for college students reveals what really surprised them …Read more SWIM AT OWN RISK: ‘Shark Tank’ star sends warning to Brazil amid Musk feud: ‘Be careful’ …Read more ‘RELY ON PUBLIC TRUST’: Ketanji Brown Jackson says its ‘problematic’ for Supreme Court to be seen as political …Read more ‘SHRINKFLATION’ STRIKES: Americans face higher health costs and shorter doctor visits …Read more NOT BACKING DOWN: High spending mayor says she’s ‘cleaned up’ town despite turning balance sheet red …Read more ‘I FEEL CONFIDENT’: Hochul brushes off suggestion that NY needs to improve vetting process after ex-aide accused of working for CCP …Read more CONTRABAND: Navy officer demoted after running illegal WiFi network on warship …Read more Subscribe now to get the Fox News Politics newsletter in your inbox. Harris shifts stance on EV mandates, declines to clarify how new position is consistent with her values

Harris shifts stance on EV mandates, declines to clarify how new position is consistent with her values

During Vice President Kamala Harris’ first interview as the Democratic Party’s official nominee for president, she insisted her “values have not changed,” pointing to her work to promote the Green New Deal as an example. “The most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed,” Harris told CNN’s Dana Bash Thursday. “You mentioned the Green New Deal. I have always believed, and I have worked on it, that the climate crisis is real, that it is an urgent matter to which we should apply metrics that include holding ourselves to deadlines around time.” But Harris’ remarks do not align with a statement her campaign put out last week, indicating she “does not support an electric vehicle mandate,” a main component of the progressive climate package Harris claims to still support. Similarly, her support for “metrics that include holding ourselves to deadlines around time” also diverges from such a claim. Subsequently, news outlet Axios reached out to the Harris campaign last week, asking for clarification of the vice president’s position. Yesterday, the campaign responded to Axios, but declined to comment on the matter. Fox News Digital also reached out to the Harris campaign repeatedly and asked for clarification on how Harris’ lack of support for electric vehicle mandates is in line with her values, particularly when it’s a policy measure she has promoted more than once. Fox News Digital did not receive a response. FEWER AMERICANS WANT TO BUY AN EV – EVEN AS BIDEN PUSHES FOR STRONGEST-EVER CLIMATE CHANGE RULES  In addition to supporting the Green New Deal, which included EV mandates, Harris also sponsored a bill during her time as a U.S. senator that sought to create a “national zero-emission vehicle standard,” which would have required all passenger vehicles to be electric by 2040. Meanwhile, Harris ran on a platform as a presidential candidate in 2019 that called for mandates to phase out gas-powered vehicles even sooner, in 2035. After the Biden-Harris ticket won in 2020, Harris also pledged that all new medium- and heavy-duty vehicles would be “zero-emission” by 2030.  “The American people don’t want top-down, one-size-fits-all energy and climate policies like federal EV mandates,” said Chris Barnard, president of the American Conservation Coalition, a nonprofit environmental advocacy group focused on limited government and conservative approaches to environmental issues. “We should pursue an all-of-the-above energy dominance strategy that prioritizes affordable, reliable, and increasingly cleaner energy solutions, rooted in American innovation and competition with China. From nuclear energy to permitting reform, this energy dominance agenda tackles both environmental and economic concerns to make America the cleanest and most prosperous nation in the world.” Barnard added that Harris “flip-flopping” on issues as important as the future of American energy “is neither productive nor compelling.” HARRIS’ PUSH FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES SUFFERS ANOTHER BLOW AFTER AUTOMAKER BACKTRACKS: ‘UNWANTED AND UNWORKABLE’ Besides shifting her position on electric vehicle mandates, Harris has come under fire for similar pivots on issues like the border, health care and fracking.  For example, during Harris’ first interview as the Democratic nominee on Thursday, the vice president insisted she would enforce the law against illegal border crossings. But in the past, Harris has said prosecuting migrants for crossing the border illegally was something she was against. During a nationally televised debate amid Harris’ 2019 run for president, she said as much, and in 2015, as California’s attorney general, Harris told the San Francisco Chronicle that “an undocumented immigrant is not a criminal.” She also posted the claim on social media. And in a riff with the late Arizona GOP Sen. John McCain’s daughter, Meghan, during a 2019 episode of “The View,” Harris reiterated her stance. ‘FOR ELECTION PURPOSES’: CRITICS BALK AT HARRIS’ CLAIM SHE WILL ‘ENFORCE OUR LAWS’ AT SOUTHERN BORDER As California’s attorney general, Harris also instructed local law enforcement not to adhere to ICE detainers when they request that someone who has committed a crime and crossed the border illegally be held until they can be taken into custody by federal immigration authorities. As a U.S. senator, Harris sought to strip funding from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and she has also previously compared ICE to the Ku Klux Klan. On health care, Harris campaign officials have said the vice president does not support “Medicare-for-all.” However, Harris has yet to share publicly that she is not in favor of a single-payer health care system after indicating during a 2019 debate that she would “abolish” private health care in favor of a “government-run plan.” Fox News Digital reached out to the Harris campaign earlier this week for clarity on Harris’ position when it comes to health care, but did not receive a response. During Harris’s CNN interview last week, she also argued that she made it clear as the vice presidential nominee in 2020 that she does not wish to ban fracking, despite indicating as a presidential nominee in 2019 that she was “in favor of banning fracking” on federal land. HARRIS CLAIMS SHE ‘MADE CLEAR’ HER POSITION ON FRACKING IN 2020 – TRANSCRIPT SHOWS ANOTHER STORY Harris supporters have responded to GOP criticism slamming Harris for her shifting policy stances by arguing it is a natural evolution that shows she is a good leader, and pointing the finger at Trump for his changing position on abortion. “This idea that she hasn’t been consistent — I mean what about Donald Trump’s flip-flops? What about his flip-flops on abortion?” Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., said on NBC News’ “Meet The Press” over the weekend. “I think the vice president is consistent on the position on fracking. It’s exactly how Joe Biden ran.” “I think it’s a sign of a good leader, that they learn and evolve over time,” Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said Sunday on ABC News’ “This Week.”

Bezos’ Amazon and Blue Origin back Harris as Alexa gushes over VP

Bezos’ Amazon and Blue Origin back Harris as Alexa gushes over VP

While videos circulate online of Amazon’s Alexa giving vastly different answers when asked to make a quick argument for voting for Vice President Harris versus voting for former President Trump, federal donor records show the tech giant’s employees have a clear favorite. A review of a Federal Election Commission database shows employees at Jeff Bezos’ companies Amazon and Blue Origin have contributed significantly to VP Kamala Harris’ campaign.  According to the nonpartisan research group OpenSecrets, Amazon donors have contributed $1,000,140 to Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 election cycle. Blue Origin workers donated much less to the Harris’ campaign, at roughly $27,000. KAMALA HARRIS HAS YET TO DO FORMAL PRESS CONFERENCE SINCE EMERGING AS DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE Overall, just over 73% of contributions from Amazon-affiliated donors have gone to Democrats, while Republicans have received nearly 27%. In comparison, Meta donors have directed 87% of their contributions to Democrats and almost 13% to Republicans.  Alphabet — Google’s parent company — donors have also favored Democrats, providing 82.23% of their contributions, with 17.77% going to Republicans. OpenSecrets notes that these donations are from individuals affiliated with the companies, not from the companies themselves, as organizations are barred from contributing to candidates or party committees. HARRIS MOCKED FOR ‘FAKE SOUTHERN ACCENT’ DURING GEORGIA RALLY The online marketplace giant hasn’t deviated from its previous donations. During the 2020 election, Amazon funneled millions of dollars to the then-candidate Joe Biden — far more than contributors gave to Republican Donald Trump. Figures published by the Center for Responsive Politics show that Amazon workers gave more than $2.22 million to Biden’s presidential campaign during the election, and $934,747 to the DNC Services Corp., the Democratic National Committee’s PAC account. Replicating queries seen elsewhere on social media videos, Fox News Digital asked Amazon’s Alexa questions about the presidential race. “Why should I vote for Trump?” we asked. But Alexa declined to provide such information. “I cannot provide responses that endorse any political party or its leader,” the virtual assistant responded. Tested by Fox News Digital another time, Alexa gave a similar answer when asked about Trump.  JUSTICE KETANJI BROWN JACKSON SAYS SHE WOULD SUPPORT AN ‘ENFORCEABLE CODE’ OF ETHICS FOR THE SUPREME COURT “I cannot promote content that supports a certain political party or a specific politician,” Alexa said. “Furthermore, I do not have the ability to provide information regarding the policies of the U.S. government. The responsibility of providing information regarding the policies of the U.S. government lies with the government itself.”  Big Tech has come under tough scrutiny in the last eight years for reportedly censoring content from conservatives and suppressing information related to COVID-19 during the pandemic.  “This was an error that was quickly fixed,” an Amazon spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Wednesday. Fox News Digital’s Megan Henney and Danielle Wallace contributed to this report.
