Lindsey Graham puts Amazon ‘on notice’ over Alexa’s potential election interference

FIRST ON FOX: Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., issued a stern warning to Amazon after its virtual assistant technology, Alexa, was found to be politically biased in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Trump.  Graham, the ranking member of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, told Amazon president and CEO Andrew Jassy in a letter he was putting him “on notice that I will not allow this to go unaddressed.” On Tuesday, videos of interactions with Alexa went viral as the technology responded to queries on why someone should vote for Harris or why they should vote for Trump.  SCHUMER SOUNDS OFF ON GOP PLAN TO TIE CITIZENSHIP VOTING REQUIREMENT TO SPENDING BILL When Fox News Digital questioned the technology about why they should vote for Trump, Alexa said, “I cannot promote content that supports a certain political party or a specific politician.”  “Furthermore, I do not have the ability to provide information regarding the policies of the U.S. government. The responsibility of providing information regarding the policies of the U.S. government lies with the government itself,” the Amazon technology said.  DEMS LOSE GROUND TO GOP CONTENDERS IN PIVOTAL SENATE RACES AS VOTERS LOCK IN: POLL But when it was asked why someone should vote for Harris, Alexa said, “While there are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, the most significant may be that she is a woman of color who has overcome numerous obstacles to become a leader in her field.”  BORDER SENATOR AND FORMER HARRIS VP SHORT-LISTER CLAIMS ‘NO EVIDENCE’ ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS VOTE “Additionally, her experience as a prosecutor and her record of accomplishment in the areas of criminal justice and immigration reform make her a compelling candidate,” it added.  Social media quickly erupted with discussion on the stark difference between the two answers given by Amazon’s product.  MCCORMICK SEIZES ON PENNSYLVANIA SENATE RACE GAP, LAYING BORDER BLAME ON CASEY Amazon later said it corrected Alexa’s responses, claiming the disparity was an “error.” “This was an error that was quickly fixed,” a spokesperson for the company told Fox News Digital on Tuesday.  Graham claimed in his letter to Jassy that the “radically different responses suggest that Amazon technology is interfering in the election in favor of one political candidate.” BLUE-STATE REPUBLICAN TOUTS HIS ANTI-TRUMP CREDENTIALS IN BID TO FLIP SENATE SEAT RED “There’s a widespread belief among conservatives that companies like yours have a distinct bias in favor of liberal causes,” he noted.  And, according to the senator, the “shocking interaction” between Alexa and users is “exhibit A of the problem” in the minds of conservatives.  Graham told the Amazon executive he expected a “prompt reply as to what happened here and what corrective actions will be taken in the future.” Amazon did not immediately provide comment to Fox News Digital. House GOP subpoenas Tim Walz over $250M COVID fraud scheme by Minnesota nonprofit

House GOP subpoenas Tim Walz over 0M COVID fraud scheme by Minnesota nonprofit

House Republicans sent a subpoena to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 running mate, over his administration’s handling of taxpayer funds during the COVID-19 pandemic. The subpoenas, sent by the House Education and Workforce Committee, center on a $250 million fraud scheme by a Minnesota-based nonprofit called Feeding Our Future, which the Department of Justice (DOJ) previously accused of having “exploited a federally-funded child nutrition program during the COVID-19 pandemic.” Feeding Our Future was accused of defrauding a federal program to feed hungry children by creating fake attendance rosters with the names and ages of children who do not exist and falsifying invoices to portray food purchases to feed those children.  At least 70 people were charged in connection to the scheme, and five have been found guilty. TRUMP IMPERSONATES ELON MUSK TALKING ABOUT ROCKETS: ‘I’M DOING A NEW STAINLESS STEEL HUB’ Committee Chair Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., wrote in a letter to accompany Walz’s subpoena, “As the chief executive and the highest ranking official in the state of Minnesota, you are responsible for the [Minnesota Department of Education] and its administration of [Federal Child Nutrition Programs].” “Statements in the press by you and your representatives indicate that you and other executive officers were involved, or had knowledge of, MDE’s administration of the FCNP and responsibilities and actions regarding the massive fraud,” Foxx wrote. In addition to targeting Walz, Foxx also sent subpoenas to Minnesota Commissioner of Education Willie Jett and Biden administration Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack.  HARRIS SLAMS TRUMP OVER ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY ALTERCATION, PROMPTING FIERY RESPONSE FROM JD VANCE A spokeswoman for Walz told Fox News Digital in response to the subpoena, “This was an appalling abuse of a federal COVID-era program. The state department of education worked diligently to stop the fraud, and we’re grateful to the FBI for working with the department of education to arrest and charge the individuals involved.” Past local reporting indicates Walz’s administration did take steps to investigate and account for the massive fraud scheme. The Sahan Journal reported that the MDE contacted the FBI about suspected fraud by the nonprofit in April 2021. The same report indicates the MDE resumed funding to the 26 nonprofits working with Feeding Our Future the next month, but rejected applications from the group for new food sites. WALZ FACED ANOTHER ACCUSATION OF MISREPRESENTATION IN UNEARTHED, BLISTERING LETTER: ‘REMOVE ANY REFERENCE’ House Republicans have heightened their scrutiny into Walz — both his administration and his personal past — since he was named the Democratic vice presidential candidate last month. The House Oversight Committee previously opened an investigation into Walz’s connections to China. Fox News Digital reached out to the Harris-Walz campaign for comment.

Dem governor reveals CCP official with deep ties to her office ‘no longer’ in role amid former aide’s arrest

Dem governor reveals CCP official with deep ties to her office ‘no longer’ in role amid former aide’s arrest

New York’s Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul announced on Wednesday that she spoke with the State Department and “conveyed [her] desire” to have a Chinese diplomat that she and her office have met with repeatedly since 2019 “expelled” from his post in New York after he was referenced dozens of times in an indictment against her former top aide. During an unrelated press conference on Wednesday, Hochul informed the media that she had been on the phone with a high-ranking State Department official at the request of Secretary of State Antony Blinken and revealed that she supported “[Consul General Huang Ping] from the People’s Republic of China and the New York mission [being] expelled, and I’ve been informed that the [consul general] is no longer in the New York mission.” Hochul’s comments were later contradicted by State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller, who said during a press briefing that the “consul general was not expelled” and that Ping “reached the end of a regularly scheduled rotation in August” and rotated out of the position. He added that there was “no expulsive action.” “Embarrassing stuff from the State Department,” Michael Sobolik, a senior fellow in Indo-Pacific Studies at the American Foreign Policy Council, posted on X. “Huang Ping was colluding with elected US officials. Hit Beijing back — hard. Don’t give them a graceful off-ramp.” HUANG PING, ‘PURVEYOR OF CCP PROPAGANDA,’ JOINS SCHUMER, TOP NEW YORK DEMS AT CHINESE NEW YEAR PARADE The news about Ping follows Hochul’s former deputy chief of staff, Linda Sun, and her husband, Chris Hu, getting arrested early Tuesday morning and Sun being charged “with violating and conspiring to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act, visa fraud, alien smuggling, and money laundering conspiracy,” according to a Department of Justice press release sent out later in the morning. While Hochul’s office released a statement saying they “terminated her employment in March 2023 after discovering evidence of misconduct, immediately reported her actions to law enforcement, and have assisted law enforcement throughout this process,” her ties to Ping, who has repeatedly praised the CCP and was referenced in the unsealed 64-page DOJ indictment dozens of times communicating with Sun, will likely bring more scrutiny. Ping, who has been the consul general of China’s New York Consulate since 2018 and has repeatedly called the CCP a “great party,” appears to be listed as “PRC Official-1” in the indictment and has repeatedly met with Hochul, who is referred to as “Politician- 2.” Fox News Digital in 2022 was the first media outlet to report on Hochul’s ties to Ping, noting how they met in April 2019 when she was the lieutenant governor to discuss cooperation between New York and China.  The now-deleted photo of Hochul and Ping was part of a press release showing them standing beside each other and smiling while holding a certificate that Hochul presented to him for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.  In February 2021, he called her an “old friend” in a Facebook post, featuring a video of her, and has attended other events with her as recently as this year when they both attended New York City’s Lunar New Year event in February. Video from the event shows Ping helping Hochul set off a firecracker. “I look forward to continuing to strengthen our culture, social, and economic ties in the future,” Hochul said in a November 2021 letter written for an event promoted by Ping in support of U.S.-China relations. In addition to Hochul’s ties to Ping, his rhetoric is pertinent because the unsealed indictment revealed that Sun was using her government position to influence policy and push the same talking points that were being amplified by Ping and the CCP. FOREIGN POLICY EXPERT REVEALS 2 KEY OFFENSIVE STRATEGIES US MUST ‘SEIZE’ ON TO WIN ‘COLD WAR’ WITH CHINA Fox News Digital previously reported on Ping’s rhetoric during a podcast that toed the line of the CCP, which included dismissing the Uyghur genocide as “lies,” despite the State Department and Holocaust Museum repeatedly saying China is committing genocide, and denying the independence of Taiwan, saying, “Taiwan and the mainland are from the ‘same family’” and questioned the United States for “meddling in this internal affairs of China.” The unsealed indictment revealed that a speechwriter for then-Lt. Gov. Hochul wanted to mention the “Uyghur situation,” in China for her 2021 Lunar New Year message, but the plight of the minority group being persecuted by the Chinese government was ultimately omitted after Sun overruled the speechwriter. The indictment says Sun revealed to Ping what the speechwriter wanted to include, but insisted that she would not let her boss mention Uyghurs after admitting that she was “starting to lose her temper” with the speechwriter. Ping appeared to chalk up the speechwriter’s suggestion as a clueless American who had never visited China and that U.S.-China relations could “sour” because of “people like the speechwriter,” the indictment said, prompting Sun to concur that the speechwriter had never visited China. Ping would go on to post Hochul’s Lunar New Year message days later on his Facebook page, which did not mention Uyghurs. The indictment also claimed that Sun repeatedly used her government positions in the Cuomo and Hochul administrations to block “representatives of the Taiwanese government” from meeting with high-ranking New York government officials, including Hochul and Cuomo, and would then boast about her actions with Chinese officials, including Ping. In one instance, she texted a Chinese official in the fall of 2020 to say she “almost had a heart attack when we referred to Taiwan as a country” and let the official know that she “had the press team correct it immediately,” according to the indictment. HARRIS VP PICK SPENT YEARS PROMOTING RESEARCH FACILITY THAT COLLABORATED WITH ‘CHINESE MILITARY COMPANY’ In another instance, the indictment says Sun informed a Chinese consular official that then-Lt. Gov. Hochul’s office received an invite from Taiwan’s economic office to attend their event for the SelectUSA Summit in Washington, D.C., in 2016 and that

Harris now mum on reparations she signaled support for in 2020 White House run

Harris now mum on reparations she signaled support for in 2020 White House run

Vice President Harris’ campaign did not reveal her position on reparations for Black Americans when asked Wednesday by Fox News Digital, despite growing anticipation from progressive advocates after California lawmakers withdrew their reparation bills last week. During her earlier presidential bid in 2019, Harris, then a U.S. senator representing California, said she supported “some form of reparations” and backed legislation to study the matter further. Democrat politicians in blue states, including California, in recent years have floated reparations as a way to atone for what proponents describe as a legacy of racist policies that created disparities for Black people in housing, education and health. HARRIS MOCKED FOR ‘FAKE SOUTHERN ACCENT’ DURING GEORGIA RALLY “I think there has to be some form of reparations, and we could discuss what that is, but look, we’re looking at more than 200 years of slavery,” Harris said in a 2019 interview with The Root, a website focused on Black culture and politics. “We’re looking at almost 100 years of Jim Crow. We’re looking at legalized segregation and, in fact, segregation on so many levels that exist today based on race and there has not been any kind of intervention done understanding the harm and the damage that occurred to correct [the] course. And so we are seeing the effects of all those years play out still today.”  While Harris has changed tune on some of her previous policy stances, like banning fracking or illegal immigration, she hasn’t denounced or commented much further on whether she would push a nationwide reparations effort if elected president. In an MSNBC Al Sharpton interview during Harris’ first presidential run, he asked Harris, “In the area of reparations for descendants of Africans enslaved, if you’re elected president, would you sign that bill if it came across your desk?”  “When I am elected president, I will sign that bill,” Harris responded. WHAT KAMALA HARRIS WANTS TO DO WITH CORPORATE TAXES Democrats on the Hill and in California have pushed for passage of reparations legislation. Last week, a pair of reparations-related bills for the descendants of enslaved Black Americans failed to pass in the California legislature after backers said the bills would not move forward and were at risk of being vetoed by Gov. Gavin Newsom. Black activists at the California Assembly then threatened a “direct impact” on Vice President Harris’ presidential campaign after state Democrat lawmakers shelved the bill. “We need to send a message to the governor,” said a Black woman who is a member of the Coalition for a Just and Equitable California, according to video shared on X. “The governor needs to understand the world is watching California and this is going to have a direct impact on your friend Kamala Harris who is running for president. This is going to have a direct impact, so pull up the bills now, vote on them and sign them. We’ve been waiting for over 400 years.” “We have the votes,” they added. THIS STATE COULD DETERMINE IF HARRIS OR TRUMP WINS THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION Meanwhile, Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., said in an interview with the Washington Post before Harris became the DNC nominee that more people “would be more politically engaged” if reparations were more front and center in political discourse. “But it isn’t, so they’re staying home or some are even moving to the Republican Party because it feels like Democrats are taking Black voters for granted,” he said. Last year, Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., tried to bring a $14 trillion reparations-related bill to Congress “to eliminate the racial wage gap that currently exists between Black and White Americans,” the resolution stated. Navy leader demoted after she conspired with chiefs to run illegal WiFi network on warship

A US Navy command senior chief was demoted for conspiring with other Navy chiefs to install an illegal WiFi network on a warship that they used to check sports scores and watch TV shows.  Grisel Marrero, a senior enlisted Navy officer, reportedly installed a Starlink network on the USS Manchester called “STINKY.” The command senior chief installed and operated the unauthorized network during a deployment in 2023. She charged the $1,000-a-month cost of the network to a leadership association debit card.  NAVY TO SIDELINE 17 VESSELS DUE TO MANPOWER SHORTAGE, OPERATING CREWS WILL BE REDISTRIBUTED: REPORT Marrero lied and misled her commanding officer about the network at least three times, according to a charge sheet reviewed by Fox News Digital.  As the Manchester prepared for a West Pacific deployment in April 2023, Marrero conspired with the ship’s chief to install the secret network. It would be exclusive to them: They didn’t share it with rank-and-file sailors who were forced to deploy without connectivity.  The chiefs used the network to check sports scores, text and stream movies, according to an internal investigation obtained by Navy Times. NAVY COMMANDER RELIEVED OF DUTY AFTER IMAGE OF HIM SHOOTING RIFLE WITH BACKWARDS SCOPE She was demoted from senior chief petty officer to chief petty officer after being found guilty of dereliction of duty and providing false official statements to commanders on May 29. Before her trial, Naval Surface Force Pacific, or SURFPAC, quietly relieved her of her leadership position aboard the Manchester, according to the Navy Times. SURFPAC spokesman Cmdr. Arlo Abrahamson told Navy Times that other sailors were disciplined in connection to the unauthorized WiFi but declined to provide further details.  Using such a wireless network for entertainment could cause a serious security breach, the investigation warned.  “The danger such systems pose to the crew, the ship and the Navy cannot be understated.” Prosecutors said Marrero “failed to prevent the USS Manchester’s exposure to operational security risk, as it was her duty to do.”  Marrero had paid for the $2,800 Starlink dish on her personal credit card and was the network administrator. She and another chief installed the dish during an “aloft” time period when duties aren’t recorded in the ship’s logs, according to Navy Times.  CREDIT CARD FRAUD: 5 FRIGHTENING WAYS THEIVES ARE COMING AFTER YO She named the network “STINKY” to make it sound like a wireless printer, though there were no such printers on the ship.  When junior sailors and commanding officers began to notice the network, Marrero denied its existence, according to the sheet. She also altered a data display image for the Starlink account to reflect lesser data usages.  The Starlink dish was discovered on Aug. 18 of that year by a civilian installing an authorized satellite communication system.  “The gig is up,” Marrero texted a crew member at the time, according to the investigation. After being confronted, she and the other chiefs tried to remove the dish, then told commanders they only used it while in port.  Marrero finally admitted to being behind the illegal network to her commanding officer on Aug. 26, 2023.  Court records show Marrero pleaded guilty to two counts of dereliction of duty and one count of obstruction of justice.

Club for Growth pours $5M into tight House races as GOP braces for tough election

Club for Growth pours M into tight House races as GOP braces for tough election

FIRST ON FOX: A top conservative group is pouring an additional $5 million into six key House races around the country as Republicans fight to hold and expand their razor-thin majority in November. Club for Growth Action and Win It Back PAC, an affiliated fundraising group dedicated to flipping control of the Democrat-held White House and Senate, are rolling out new ads in Alaska, Arizona, California, New Mexico, Ohio and Pennsylvania on Wednesday. They plan to flood the airwaves via satellite, streaming and mail, Fox News Digital was told, roughly nine weeks until Election Day on Nov. 5. FORMER LEADER OF WALZ’S BATTALION PUBLISHES SCATHING MESSAGE AIMED AT GOVERNOR’S MILITARY CAREER: REPORT “The past few years, Democrats across the country have made it clear that their priorities are overspending on far-left pet projects and passing pro-criminal and anti-police legislation. After record inflation and putting criminals above law-abiding families, Democrats should expect to be held accountable on Election Day,” Club for Growth Action President David McIntosh told Fox News Digital. The 30-second ads paint the Democrats running in each of those districts as soft on crime, accusing them of being “radically pro-criminal” and being “for felons, not families.” Crime and policing is an issue that was pivotal to House Republicans’ 2022 midterm election victory. MONGOLIA IGNORES ICC DEMANDS TO ARREST PUTIN DURING STATE VISIT Club for Growth’s latest ad buy is seeking to protect vulnerable Reps. David Schweikert, R-Ariz., and Scott Perry, R-Pa. The ads will also target front-line Democrats — Reps. Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio, Gabriel Vasquez, D-N.M., and Mary Peltola, D-Alaska. The sixth race being invested in is the open seat that will be vacated by Rep. Katie Porter, D-Calif., which Republicans are eyeing as a possible pickup opportunity. The heavy spending in blue-leaning districts is an indication that GOP groups are starting to feel bullish again about their chances of keeping and potentially expanding their majority. It comes as Republicans in the House and Senate battle a wave of donor enthusiasm from the left for Vice President Kamala Harris’ still-new campaign. Weeks earlier, Rep. Richard Hudson, R-N.C., head of the House GOP campaign arm, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), warned his colleagues to step up their fundraising. PENCE URGES GOP TO UNITE BEHIND UKRAINE IN BID TO COUNTER CHINA, RUSSIA He confirmed he sounded alarm bells in comments to Fox Business last month. “That’s true, and we’ve seen the fundraising on the Democrat side just go through the roof. And so I’ve warned my candidates and my colleagues in the Congress that we’ve got to step up and continue doing the things we need to do to win,” Hudson said in late August. He said the response from House Republicans has been “great,” adding, “Everyone stepped up. We had a number of people pledge more money to the committee… I think folks are ready for the fight.”

Hochul remains ‘confident’ in state’s vetting process after ex-aide accused of working for CCP

Hochul remains ‘confident’ in state’s vetting process after ex-aide accused of working for CCP

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said she remains “confident” in the state’s employee vetting program after her former aide was recently arrested and accused of acting on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party. Hochul addressed reporters Wednesday, a day after Linda Sun, 40, and her husband, Chris Hu, 41, were arrested. Sun was charged with violating and conspiring to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act, visa fraud, alien smuggling and money laundering conspiracy. Sun had touted “equity” policies in her position, a newly-resurfaced video from 2021 shows. The resurfaced video, which was a “Women in Government Leadership Webinar” presented by the New York chapter of the nonprofit Tzu Chi Foundation, was recorded on Dec. 16, 2021. At the time, Sun served as deputy chief of staff to Hochul. Sun, a naturalized U.S. citizen born in China, served under Hochul’s predecessor, Andrew Cuomo, as well.  “We have very high levels of background checks,” Hochul said during a press conference on Wednesday. “They take an enormous amount of time. They will go back to basically people’s kindergarten activities. So, we have, I feel confident in our vetting process right now. It is lengthy, it is intensive.” HOCHUL AIDE ACCUSED OF WORKING FOR CCP USED POSITION TO PROMOTE ‘EQUITY’ POLICIES IN RESURFACED VIDEO Sun and Hu pleaded not guilty during an initial court appearance Tuesday afternoon in Brooklyn and will be released on bond.  HERE’S WHAT US MUST DO NOW TO DETER CHINA MILITARY THREAT “As alleged, while appearing to serve the people of New York as Deputy Chief of Staff within the New York State Executive Chamber, the defendant and her husband actually worked to further the interests of the Chinese government and the CCP,” United States Attorney Breon Peace said, using the acronym for the Chinese Communist Party. “The illicit scheme enriched the defendant’s family to the tune of millions of dollars.” Sun has been barred from having any contact with the People’s Republic of China’s consulate and mission. CHINESE THREAT IS HERE, BUT NOT EVERYONE IN CONGRESS WANTS TO TALK ABOUT IT Her defense lawyer, Jarrod Schaeffer, said, “We’re looking forward to addressing these charges in court. Our client is understandably upset that these charges have been brought.” Hu is charged with money laundering conspiracy, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and misuse of means of identification. “I believe that the Chinese government, with their behavior in doing this and working with Linda Sun is not acceptable,” Hochul said while concluding the presser. “And it is a statement by us that we’re not tolerating this. And anybody who represented that government needs to move on. That was what we made clear.” Fox News’ Andrea Vacchiano and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

FLASHBACK: Vulnerable Dem senator accused voters supporting Trump of ‘racism’: ‘It works for them’

FLASHBACK: Vulnerable Dem senator accused voters supporting Trump of ‘racism’: ‘It works for them’

FLASHBACK: While defending then-Sen. Kamala Harris against criticism from then-President Donald Trump, Sen. Sherrod Brown told CNN that Trump voters are “supporting a racist for president.” “Well I think it works,” Brown told CNN’s Anderson Cooper when asked about Trump calling Harris “horrible” and “nasty.” “It’s the reason that the 35 percent of Americans that support President Trump love President Trump, because he plays to the anger and fear and resentment and often to racism of not all but some of his supporters,” Brown continued. “But keep in mind, his supporters are, whether they’re – while I’ve not called all of them racist, I understand that they are supporting a racist for President, but it works for them. It just drives more and more of the public away from him. And that’s why so much of the public has just had it with Trump, including some that voted for him.”  Brown’s 2020 comment followed a comment in 2019 on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” where he also called Trump racist. ‘PREGNANT PERSONS’: OHIO SEN SHERROD BROWN SCRUBBED ‘WOMEN’ FROM BILL ON PREGNANCY “We have a president who’s a racist,” Brown said. “He built his political career knowing what he was doing, questioning the legitimacy and the birthplace of the president of the United States. I know early there have been all kinds of news reports about what he did early in his career with housing.” In a statement to Fox News Digital, National Republican Senatorial Committee Spokesperson Philip Letsou said, “It’s no secret that Sherrod Brown hates Donald Trump and his supporters, it’s why he regularly insults Trump voters and voted to impeach Trump twice.” “But now that he needs their votes, Brown is trying to cover up his anti-Trump radicalism with misleading ads. Everyone can see through Shameless Sherrod’s desperate ploy.” ‘MISSING’ SIGNS AT DNC CALL OUT DEMOCRAT IN KEY SENATE RACE WHO SKIPPED CONVENTION WITH DISPUTED EXCUSE Brown, who is involved in one of the most closely watched Senate races in the country against GOP challenger Bernie Moreno in a state that Trump won by 8 points in 2020, also introduced a resolution tying the immigration system in the United States to “structural racism.” “Whereas examples of structural racism include…that members of the Black, Native American, Alaska Native, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and Hispanic or Latino communities are disproportionately impacted by the criminal justice and immigration enforcement systems and face a higher risk of contracting COVID–19 within prison populations and detention centers due to the over-incarceration of members of those communities,” Brown wrote in the resolution earlier this year. Fox News Digital asked the Brown campaign whether the Ohio senator stands by his 2020 comment on Trump’s alleged racism. “Sherrod fights for all Ohioans – whether you’re a steelworker in Cleveland or a teacher in Cincinnati or a veteran in Chillicothe,” a Brown campaign spokesperson told Fox News Digital.  “While Sherrod always does the right thing for Ohioans, Bernie Moreno only looks out for himself and stole his workers’ overtime pay, shredded key evidence a judge ordered him to keep, and sold the Chinese-made Buick Envision, which hurt Ohio autoworkers.” The race between Moreno and Brown is expected to be a close one as Republicans view it as one of their strongest opportunities to take back control of the Senate in November. The Cook Political report ranks the race as a “toss up.”

Tim Walz’s brother is ‘100% opposed’ to Democrat VP nominee’s politics: ‘Don’t agree’

Tim Walz’s brother is ‘100% opposed’ to Democrat VP nominee’s politics: ‘Don’t agree’

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s older brother posted scathing statements about the Democratic vice presidential nominee on social media, before confirming to the media that he does not support his brother’s left-wing views but wants to keep a low-profile during the election cycle.  “I was getting a lot of feedback from my friends, old acquaintances, thinking that I was feeling the same way that my brother did on the issues, and I was trying to clarify that just to friends,” Jeff Walz, Tim Walz’s older brother, told News Nation this week. “I used Facebook, which wasn’t the right platform to do that. But I will say, I don’t agree with his policies.” Reports had mounted over Labor Day weekend that Jeff was no fan of the left-wing Democratic Minnesota governor’s policies and took to his Facebook account to make his views known to friends and family. As the media reported on the social media posts over the holiday weekend, Jeff and the Harris campaign remained silent as the New York Post exclusively published the headline: “Tim Walz’s older brother is ‘100% opposed to all his ideology,’ believes VP hopeful is not ‘type of character’ who should make decisions about US’ future.” After Jeff’s profile went viral on X, a Facebook user wrote a message on one of his public posts urging him to “[h]ave a talk with your brother,” who is currently running to be Vice President Kamala Harris’ vice president. TRUMP IMPERSONATES ELON MUSK TALKING ABOUT ROCKETS: ‘I’M DOING A NEW STAINLESS STEEL HUB’ “I’m 100% opposed to all his ideology,” Jeff posted in one Facebook message Friday evening, referring to his brother.  “My family wasn’t given any notice thst [sic] he was selected and denied security the days after,” he added. HARRIS SLAMS TRUMP OVER ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY ALTERCATION, PROMPTING FIERY RESPONSE FROM JD VANCE “Help MAGA… Get on stage with President Trump and endorse him…; Help save this country….,” a Trump supporter wrote on Jeff’s post. “I’ve thought hard about doing something like that!” Jeff responded. “I’m torn between that and just keeping my family out of it.” “The stories I could tell,” he continued. “Not the type of character you want making decisions about your future.” Jeff spoke with News Nation to explain that his Facebook posts were intended to clarify to friends and family that he does not agree with his brother’s politics, not to sway voters’ views.  “It wasn’t my intent, it wasn’t our intent as a family, to put something out there to influence the general public,” Jeff told the outlet Tuesday.  He added that the “stories” he could tell about his brother were simply family anecdotes, such as Tim vomiting in the car on family trips, not stories political in nature.  WALZ FACED ANOTHER ACCUSATION OF MISREPRESENTATION IN UNEARTHED, BLISTERING LETTER: ‘REMOVE ANY REFERENCE’ “Nobody wanted to sit with him, because he had car sickness and would always throw up on us, that sort of thing,” Jeff said. “There’s really nothing else hidden behind there. People are assuming something else. There’s other stories like that, but I think that probably gives you the gist of it.” Jeff and Tim Walz are estranged, last seeing each other at their younger brother’s funeral in 2016, the elder Walz said. Jeff’s wife does text the Minnesota governor “happy birthday,” and the pair shared a brief phone call earlier this year when Tim called their mother.  “He called on her cellphone, and she gave me the cellphone. I talked to him briefly,” Jeff explained. “Harris’ team was vetting him for the vice president. He had asked me for some personal information; tax information and stuff like that, and I declined to give it at that point, but that was like a two-minute conversation.” FLASHBACK: OBAMA WAS ONE OF EARLIEST BIG-NAME DEMS TO ENDORSE WALZ AT DAWN OF HIS POLITICAL CAREER Jeff said that he will now keep his head down amid the election cycle and will not hit the campaign trail to neither support nor oppose the Harris-Walz ticket.  “There is going to be no further statements to anybody, and we’re not campaigning or anything for him or against him or anything like that,” he said. VAN JONES: WALZ NEEDS TO ADMIT HE EXAGGERATED MILITARY RECORD SO DEMS CAN ‘MOVE ON’ Gov. Walz has three siblings: Jeff Walz, Craig Walz and Sandy Dietrich.  Jeff moved to the East Coast after growing up in rural Nebraska; he now lives in Florida.  Craig was killed by a falling tree during a storm in 2016 while camping at a lake in Minnesota. He worked as a chemistry, calculus and geometry teacher in Minnesota, similar to Gov. Walz’s background in education before diving into politics in the early 2000s.  Dietrich reportedly lives in Nebraska and has kept a low profile before and amid her brother’s campaign for the vice presidency.  TIM WALZ SLAMMED AS ‘POLITICAL CHAMELEON’ AFTER DITCHING FORMER PRO-SECOND AMENDMENT STANCE Jeff added that he did take “exception to” how he found out that Vice President Kamala Harris chose the Minnesota governor as her running mate.  “The only thing I took exception to, and I will stand behind this 100%, was that we felt bad that we found out about his being picked as the vice presidential candidate from radio,” Jeff said. “And we felt like we probably should have been given a heads-up and some type of security, at least for a short time, because I guess that is a big thing.” Gov.Walz entered the political arena during the 2006 election cycle, when he ran to represent Minnesota in the U.S. House. He was elected that year and held onto the seat until 2019, when he was elected as governor of the Gopher State.  Gov. Walz was relatively unknown to voters outside of Minnesota ahead of speculation Harris could select him as her running mate. He has since come under fire from veterans and political opponents for issues such as reportedly misrepresenting his decades in the Army National
