Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua gives ‘green light’ to members to attack cops: officials

The Venezuelan street gang Tren de Aragua is believed to have given what authorities are calling the “green light” to attack and kill police officers, federal authorities have warned. A bulletin by the Colorado Information Analysis Center, a screenshot of which was shared with Fox News Digital, warns that a police department in New Mexico have received information from federal partners that members have been encouraged to attack police officers in Denver. “The Albuquerque New Mexico Police Department (APD) has released this officer safety bulletin to notify law enforcement of information regarding the Tren De Aragua criminal organization and reports that TDA members in Denver have been given a “green light” to fire on or attack law enforcement,” it says. BORDER STATE LAWMAKER SOUNDS ALARM ON BLOODTHIRSTY VENEZUELAN GANG ENTERING US: ‘THEY HAVE NO RULES’ The information was first reported by The New York Post, which cites a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) memo in Chicago providing similar information citing also “credible human sources from Colorado” and warning that “we have a TdA presence here in Chicago.” NewsNation reported that an officer safety/situation awareness bulletin had gone out to Border Patrol agents reporting similar information. Denver Police Department told Fox News Digital that it was aware of the warning. “As with any information about possible criminal activity that may impact other jurisdictions, details are shared across agencies. DPD is monitoring and making officers aware of the safety concerns shared by our law enforcement partners,” the statement said. APD said it couldn’t confirm any information in media reports, and said that disclosure of internal police bulletins “could put investigations and/or officers at risk.” HSI did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital. The notification is the latest warning in regards to the Venezuelan street gang, some members of which have come across the southern border. “Keep your eye on this gang,” Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens warned in May. “Their criminal activities represent a serious threat to our communities!” Customs and Border Protections (CBP) has previously distributed intelligence bulletins to agents revealing the tattoos and identifiers for the gang.  BLOODTHIRSTY VENEZUELAN GANG TREN DE ARAGUA SETS UP SHOP IN US AS BORDER AUTHORITIES SOUND ALARM TdA is said to specialize in extortion, kidnapping, murder and sex trafficking. Federal authorities have been warning that the gang is trying to establish itself in the U.S., where police are already linking it to organized crime. The FBI has also warned that the gang could team up with the bloodthirsty MS-13. The gang drew additional attention when it emerged that the brother of the suspect in the killing of Georgia student Laken Riley had ties to the gang. Both are Venezuelan illegal immigrants. Recently the Treasury designated Tren de Aragua a significant transnational criminal organization and offered financial rewards for the conviction of three of its leaders. John Fabbricatore, a former ICE field office director who is now running for a congressional seat in Colorado as a Republican, told Fox News Digital that the gang has got a foothold in the state and is taking over apartment buildings. He said that the gang has taken advantage of the ongoing border crisis. CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF THE BORDER SECURITY CRISIS “This whole border situation over the last three and a half years has allowed countless criminals to be allowed into the United States, and we’re seeing an uptick in crime, especially in illegal immigrant crime throughout the US, and sanctuary cities are just magnetizing it,” he said. He also joined others in warning about the gang, saying they are involved in drug trafficking, large-scale operations and other crimes. “For United States citizens, for people here within the United States, they are a dangerous gang. And with them just putting out a green light on police officers here in the United States, we could potentially see police officers being shot at by these gang members because they do not fear the law enforcement in the United States,” he said.

House Speaker Johnson slams White House’s silence on Olympics opening ceremony controversy: ‘An endorsement’

House Speaker Johnson slams White House’s silence on Olympics opening ceremony controversy: ‘An endorsement’

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., slammed the White House Tuesday for failing to address the controversial Olympics opening ceremony skit that appeared to showcase drag queens reenacting the Last Supper with Jesus and his disciples.  “The White House has had every opportunity to condemn the Olympics’ shameful mockery of the Last Supper, but they refuse to do it,” Johnson wrote in a post on X. “Their silence should be taken as an endorsement. The more than 200 million Christians in America should take note.” During Tuesday’s White House briefing, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused to answer questions about President Biden’s take on the performance. “I don’t have anything. I appreciate the question, I just don’t have anything to share,” Jean-Pierre said while shrugging and smiling.  BIDEN, HARRIS CALLED OUT BY RELIGIOUS GROUP FOR STAYING SILENT ON ‘INSULTING’ OLYMPICS LAST SUPPER DRAG PARODY When reporters said Christians were offended by the opening act, Jean-Pierre giggled and continued to dodge answering what Biden’s stance was on the performance. “I just answered your question. I don’t have anything else to add,” Jean-Pierre said through chuckles. Biden, who has often spoken about his Catholic faith, has yet to comment on the event.  First lady Jill Biden praised the opening ceremony as “spectacular” in remarks from Paris but did not specifically comment on the drag queen skit. When asked about the opening ceremony and backlash from the religious community, neither Biden nor Vice President Kamala Harris’ offices responded to Fox News Digital. Other Christian U.S. leaders called the scene “insulting” and part of a “war on our faith.”  JILLIAN MICHAELS BLASTS OLYMPICS OPENING CEREMONY FOR ‘HYPOCRISY’ FOLLOWING LAST SUPPER ‘MOCKERY’ Johnson spoke out right after the performance and called it an attack on Christian values. “Last night’s mockery of the Last Supper was shocking and insulting to Christian people around the world who watched the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games,” Johnson previously said in a post on X, formerly Twitter. “The war on our faith and traditional values knows no bounds today. But we know that truth and virtue will always prevail.” OLYMPICS OPENING CEREMONY SPARKS OUTRAGE WITH DRAG QUEENS PARODYING LAST SUPPER: ‘GONE COMPLETELY WOKE’ Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis also called out the performance, echoing Johnson’s comments. “The mockery of Christians during the Olympics opening ceremony is a symbol of cultural decline,” DeSantis wrote. Fox News’ Greg Wehner and Aubrie Spady contributed to this report.

Biden’s call for SCOTUS overhaul par for the Democratic course; experts call changes a ‘pipe dream’

Biden’s call for SCOTUS overhaul par for the Democratic course; experts call changes a ‘pipe dream’

President Biden’s latest call to overhaul the Supreme Court and his warning that “extremism is undermining public confidence” in the bench, is part of an ongoing pattern of institutional criticism, some legal experts have said.  Biden called Monday for term limits and ethics guardrails for the justices to “prevent abuse of presidential power and restore faith in the Supreme Court.” Over the past few decades, Democrats have clamored for institutional change, usually after facing political headwinds from a decision. Another example followed the 2016 election, when Democrats like Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts called for the abolition of the electoral college. BIDEN’S SCOTUS CRITIQUES LARGELY UNPRECEDENTED, EXPERTS SAY Warren argued in 2019 during a campaign stop in Jackson, Mississippi, that non-swing states are not often visited during the general election, and their voters are often overlooked. At the same time, other Democrats were livid at the fact former presidental candidate Hillary Clinton scored many more popular votes than Donald Trump, but Trump won by 77 electors. In 2013, Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid, D-Nev., invoked the “nuclear option” to eliminate the 60-vote threshold for Senate-vetted nominees. At the time, Sen. Mitch McConnell warned Reid, “You’ll regret this, and you may regret this a lot sooner than you think.” Within a few years, McConnell’s premonition came to pass as Democrats erupted at the Kentucky Republican after he utilized Reid’s precedent to extend the “option” to Supreme Court nominees and quickly shepherded Trump’s picks through the confirmation process. Democrats have decried censorship of journalists on X during Elon Musk’s tenure, while having limited qualms with the Jack Dorsey-led Twitter censoring the New York Post’s Hunter Biden bombshell. Legal experts characterized the reality of the proposed changes as exceedingly unlikely. SCHUMER PLANS TO STRIP TRUMP OF IMMUNITY FOLLOWING SCOTUS RULING “With respect to Biden wanting to institute term limits on Supreme Court justices, this is a pipe dream at best,” said Ken Belkin, a criminal defense and civil rights attorney in New York. “U.S. Supreme Court Justices’ terms are set by the Constitution, and they are set for life — so long as the justice serves in good behavior. In order to set term limits like President Biden proposes, it would require a constitutional amendment.” Belkin noted the tenuous process to pass a constitutional amendment. Thirty-eight state legislatures must approve it. Expanding the court, he noted, could, however, be done through legislative action. “The attacks on the Supreme Court are being inflamed by certain politicians and media outlets who seem to either have a fundamental misunderstanding of the court’s role or are intentionally misleading the public,” Belkin added. “The court does not exist to rubber stamp one’s policy preferences whether they be liberal or conservative.” Another legal expert offered that there is indeed a trend on the left to overhaul institutions. “Clearly, if the left sees something that it doesn’t like, it ordains it to be a problem that has to be fixed. Here, of course, they are trying to monkey around with the one branch of government that is, that they don’t control, and that is supposed to be independent,” said former Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Malcolm. Malcolm, now a senior legal fellow at the right-leaning Heritage Foundation, said judges have a lifetime tenure because they are supposed to be independent, and that it is the transition to six conservative justices on the bench that has made the left “go nuts.” Malcolm noted justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito had been under fire from Democrats for accepting trips from wealthy friends, pointing out silence on that side of the aisle when the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg did the same thing. Throughout Biden’s decades in office, Malcolm said, Biden has never voiced such support for court reforms, but he has done so with 99 days to go in his political career. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP “This is blatantly political [and] designed to rally the Democratic base,” Malcolm said. “It’s not about trying to address a so-called problem or a serious effort at reforms.” As for the political angle of the apparent pattern, Article III Project President Mike Davis said Biden is corruptly trying to “selectively disqualify” justices he doesn’t like. “And our president, who politicized and weaponized his Justice Department to destroy his political opponent, now wants to destroy the Supreme Court who stopped him,” said Davis, whose organization has a textualist interpretation of the Constitution and helps vet and confirm judicial nominees such as Justice Neil Gorsuch.  “[Biden’s] vice president aided and abetted him every step of the way,” Davis added. Davis called the behavior on the left “the gravest threat imaginable to our republic,” saying Biden and Harris are essentially trying to destroy a co-equal branch of government. “Both are the ‘dictator’ and ‘danger to democracy’ they project onto their political opponents,” Davis said. The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

Son of Mexican drug lord El Chapo pleads not guilty in US court

Son of Mexican drug lord El Chapo pleads not guilty in US court

US prosecutors lay out five-count indictment against Joaquin Guzman Lopez after arrest operation in Texas last week. Joaquin Guzman Lopez, the son of convicted Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, has pleaded not guilty to drug trafficking and other charges in a United States court. Guzman Lopez, dressed in an orange jumpsuit, stood in a Chicago courtroom on Tuesday with his feet shackled as federal prosecutors detailed a five-count indictment that also includes weapons charges. US District Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman ordered him detained pending trial. The judge did not set a trial date and scheduled the next court date in the case for September 30. The hearing came just days after US authorities arrested Guzman Lopez and Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, a longtime member of Mexico’s Sinaloa cartel, in the El Paso, Texas area last week, according to the US Department of Justice. Many of the details of the arrest operation remain murky, however. Last week, US officials familiar with the situation said Guzman Lopez duped Zambada into boarding a propeller plane in Mexico by saying they were going to scope out real estate in the country’s north. Instead, the plane brought both men to the US, where Guzman Lopez had planned to surrender, but Zambada had not. Zambada’s lawyer, Frank Perez, disputed the version of events offered by US officials. Perez said that Guzman Lopez “forcibly kidnapped” Zambada and brought him to the US against his will. Zambada pleaded not guilty to drug charges last week in El Paso federal court. Mexico has opened an investigation into the events leading to the two men’s arrest. Their capture fuelled theories about how US authorities pulled it off and prompted Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador to take the unusual step of issuing a public appeal to drug cartels not to fight each other. “Those who are engaged in these illegal activities know they resolve nothing with confrontations,” Lopez Obrador said on Monday, adding “They would go out and risk the lives of other human beings, and why make families suffer?” An image provided by the US State Department shows Guzman Lopez [US State Department via AP Photo] There were no immediate reports of increased violence over the weekend. But the Sinaloa cartel has been riven for years by fighting between followers of Zambada and rivals who follow El Chapo’s sons, known collectively as Los Chapitos, or “The Little Chapos”. Their father was convicted of drug charges in New York in 2019 and is serving a life sentence in a maximum security prison. US Drug Enforcement Administration chief Anne Milgram said Zambada’s arrest “strikes at the heart of the cartel that is responsible for the majority of drugs, including fentanyl and methamphetamine, killing Americans from coast to coast”. Israel strikes Beirut: What we know so far

Israel strikes Beirut: What we know so far

Israel says the attack targeted Hezbollah commander in response to the Golan Heights attack on Saturday. Israel has carried out an air raid in Beirut, killing at least one person in a move that could raise tensions between the country and the Lebanese group Hezbollah. Israel’s military has said the attack on Tuesday targeted Hezbollah commander Muhsin Shukr, whose condition was not immediately clear. The attack comes three days after an attack on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, which Israel blames on Hezbollah. Here’s what to know about the explosion so far: When and where did Israel attack Beirut?  The blast was heard in Beirut’s southern suburbs at around 19:40 local time (16:40 GMT) on Tuesday evening. It hit the Haret Hreik neighbourhood, near Hezbollah’s Shura Council its’s central decision-making authority. Half of the targeted buildings in the densely populated neighbourhood collapsed and a nearby hospital suffered minor damages. Surrounding streets were littered with debris and broken glass as ambulances rushed to the scene. Why did Israel bomb Beirut?  Israel’s military said its strike targeted Hezbollah commander,  Muhsen Shukr also known as ”Haj Muhsen.” It claimed Muhsen was responsible for an attack in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights that killed 12 people and wounded 30 on Saturday. Israel has occupied the western region of Golan Heights since the 1967 war while the remaining part is under Syria’s control. The rocket attack on Saturday hit in Majdal Shams, in the northeastern part of the Israeli-occupied territory. Hezbollah has denied involvement in the attack. How many people died in the strike? While casualties are still being confirmed, Lebanon’s National News Agency has reported at least one person was killed and several wounded. Hezbollah sources have said Shukr survived the attack. Has Israel bombed Beirut before? Since launching its war on Gaza in October, Israel has attacked Beirut on at least one previous occasion before Tuesday’s attack. On January 2, Israel carried out a strike that killed senior Hamas official Saleh al-Arouri. Israel’s last attack on Beirut before that was in 2006, during the 34-day war between Israel and Hezbollah. What’s next? Israel’s military has not issued any new instructions for civil defence in Israel following the attack. Reporting from Beirut, Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr said the Israeli messaging is that this was their promised response to the Majdal Shams attack, and that they are not interested in more armed confrontation with Hezbollah beyond this. While Hezbollah has promised to respond to any kind of attack from Israel, the retaliation may not be immediate, said Khodr. Ori Goldberg, a political commentator in Tel Aviv, told Al Jazeera that the attack is likely not a “serious escalation.” He added that Israel might not risk war with Lebanon as it is already in the middle of “one of the most severe domestic crises it has ever experienced”. “A war with Lebanon could perhaps rally Israelis around the flag, but its effects would be almost immediately disastrous,” said Goldberg. Responding to questions about the attack on Tuesday, White House press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre said the US does not believe that an all-out war between Hezbollah and Israel is inevitable. US President Joe Biden “believes it can be avoided” with a diplomatic solution, she added. Adblock test (Why?)

Why was a scene from the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony controversial?

Why was a scene from the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony controversial?

Some people have reacted angrily to part of the Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympics. “Demeaning, disgusting and disrespectful” – some of the words used to describe a controversial scene during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris. Organisers have apologised for the performance against the backdrop of the River Seine that some saw as a spoof of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” painting. Comprised of drag queens, a transgender model and a singer made up as the Greek god of wine, it provoked outrage among Catholics, Christians and Muslims around the world. So, was this scene simply an example of freedom of expression? VP Harris holds rally in crucial battleground state days before Trump at same venue

VP Harris holds rally in crucial battleground state days before Trump at same venue

ATLANTA, GA – When Vice President Kamala Harris headlines a rally Tuesday evening in battleground Georgia’s capital and largest city, she’ll stand in front of the largest crowd this cycle for the Democratic Party’s national ticket. Hours before the vice president arrived in Atlanta, the Georgia State Convocation Center – which has a listed capacity of 8,000 people for concerts – was filling up with supporters. It’s another sign of the energy and excitement that’s returning to the party nine days after President Biden’s blockbuster announcement that he was suspending his re-election campaign against former President Trump and endorsing his vice president. ONE OF THESE FIVE DEMOCRATS COULD BE HARRIS’ RUNNING MATE Biden’s immediate backing of Harris ignited a surge of endorsements for the vice president by Democratic governors, senators, House members and other party leaders and elders. Within 36 hours, Harris announced that she had locked up her party’s nomination by landing the verbal backing of a majority of the nearly 4,000 convention delegates. 2024 AD WARS: TRUMP, HARRIS, RACE TO DEFINE THE VICE PRESIDENT  “Freedom is on the ballot this November. That is why I will be in Atlanta tonight with @theestallion to talk about the stakes of this election,” the vice president wrote in a social media post on her way to Atlanta. Rapper Megan Thee Stallion is expected to perform at the rally, which received nearly 20,000 RSPVs ahead of the event. The stop by Harris is a key test of the Democrats’ momentum on the ground in the key southeastern battleground state where Biden narrowly edged Trump four years ago. Once a red bastion, Georgia has become extremely competitive in presidential, Senate, and gubernatorial elections in recent cycles, thanks in large part to the growing strength of Black and Latino voters, who make up a key party of the Democrats’ base in the state. HOW LONG WILL THE HARRIS ‘HONEYMOON’ IN THE POLLS LAST? But Biden’s disastrous performance against Trump at a late June debate against Trump that was held in Atlanta fueled questions about his physical and mental abilities to serve another four years in the White House. It also spurred a rising chorus of calls from within his own party for the 81-year-old president to end his bid for a second term in the White House.  Trump’s edge over Biden in the key battleground states – including Georgia -started to grow in public opinion polling in the wake of the debate. The former president is intent on winning back Georgia in November. And hours before Harris arrived in Atlanta, the Trump campaign announced that the former president and his running mate – Sen. JD Vance of Ohio – will hold a rally on Saturday at the Georgia State Convocation Center – the same venue where Harris is on Tuesday. Trump will likely easily fill the venue, as the former president has been drawing large crowds at his rallies since launching his 2024 campaign over a year and a half ago. The Harris campaign, ahead of the Atlanta rally, highlighted the campaign’s large ground game advantage over Trump’s campaign in the swing states. Battleground states director Dan Kanninen noted that the campaign had 24 coordinated offices in Georgia, far ahead of the Trump campaign, which opened its first office in June. “This battleground advantage will almost certainly be decisive in a race likely to be decided by just tens of thousands of votes,” Kanninen argued. The vice president, ahead of the rally, was set to meet with local abortion rights activists – another sign of how she plans to showcase the issue as a central part of her White House campaign. The Harris campaign said that in her speech, the vice president “will lay out how she will prioritize the strengthening of middle-class families: And pointing to inflation, which is easing from highs two years ago but remains a persistent issue for most Americans, Harris “will say a key to this is recognizing that prices remain too high for many essentials that families rely on, and she will lay out her plans to lower costs” The campaign also noted that Harris would “also discuss the state of the race, reiterating that she is the underdog in this race but has real momentum and grassroots enthusiasm at her side, and she is expected to call out Trump for refusing to honor his commitment to debate.” Get the latest updates from the 2024 campaign trail, exclusive interviews and more at our Fox News Digital election hub.

Libertarian presidential candidate Chase Oliver: Social Security a ‘bankrupt Ponzi scheme’

Libertarian presidential candidate Chase Oliver: Social Security a ‘bankrupt Ponzi scheme’

Libertarian Party presidential candidate Chase Oliver is on a mission to slash government and promote free-market solutions to America’s problems.  In an age of rising government spending across the board, it’s an ambitious goal, but Oliver has already knocked off both Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Donald Trump in securing the Libertarian Party’s nomination. TRUMP COURTS LIBERTARIANS TO DRAW PARTY ACTIVISTS AWAY FROM RFK JR.: ‘IF WE UNITE, WE ARE UNSTOPPABLE’ Recently, he sat down with Fox News Digital at FreedomFest in Las Vegas for an interview. Often billed as America’s third-largest political party, the Libertarian Party considered appeals by both Trump and RFK Jr., before moving forward with Oliver after seven closely contested rounds of voting at the party’s national convention in Washington, D.C., in May. Oliver is a former Democrat who supported Barack Obama in 2008, before becoming disillusioned with the party’s foreign policy. Oliver argues that the two-party system is rotten, and that both parties are fundamentally failing Americans when it comes to individual and economic freedoms. “Well, I’m running for president because I think voters deserve to have more than two options on their ballot,” he said. “They deserve to have a choice that’s fighting for each and every person’s individual liberty that supports the power of free markets, voluntary exchange, and doesn’t seek to use government as the solution on the left or the right. And so I’m happy to be that choice for voters.” TRUMP, IN HOSTILE TERRITORY, FACES BOOING DURING LIBERTARIAN PARTY CONVENTION AS MEMBERS PICK THEIR NOMINEE Prior to being elected the Libertarian Party nominee, Oliver was most famous for acting as an alleged spoiler in Georgia’s 2022 U.S. Senate race, forcing the election into a runoff. Oliver disputes the term “spoiler.” “Well, I always say you can’t spoil what’s already rotten, which is the two-party system. But I was happy to be a choice for those voters. We had a runoff system for that very reason. And it’s why I encourage things like preferential voting or instant runoff voting, ranked choice voting, whatever you want to call it,” he said. “Because that removes the so-called spoiler effect and allows for voters to put their first preference first and, rank it on down the line. So I was happy that I paused the voting for about four weeks, but the eventual winner was the guy who was leading on the first ballot. So I don’t really feel like I spoiled [the race].” Oliver said he’ll start making considerable cuts to the size of government on day one. “The first pledge that I would make is that any budget sent to me that isn’t balanced would be a vetoed budget…We have to challenge the Congress to actually start cutting government, and it has to come from, not just one department or the other,” he said. “In fact, you can remove whole departments…things like the Department of Education can immediately be dismantled, removing that from the federal taxpayer’s balance sheet. But in every department of government, there’s at least redundancies…I would cut down everything, including the third rail of American politics, Social Security.” Oliver said he believes that Social Security is an unsustainable “Ponzi scheme,” and calls for it to be replaced with a program based on market investments. “It’s bankrupt. It’s a Ponzi scheme. We’ve paid into the system. We don’t get out what we were promised. And ultimately, it’s going to go belly up because the math just doesn’t work. And so it is a failed federal program. Much like many federal programs,” he said. “It costs too much and it doesn’t deliver. And I think it’s better for us younger voters or for younger folks especially, to be given our money back so we can invest in the marketplace. I don’t want to take it away from my parents or grandparents who are living on those benefits, but I’m never going to get those benefits, even if I pay in until the day I retire.” LIBERTARIANS SELECT CHASE OLIVER AS PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE, VERY LITTLE SUPPORT SHOWN FOR TRUMP, RFK JR On immigration, Oliver said he believes that market equilibrium will solve the immigration problem. He’s an advocate for free movement of people across borders, but also a staunch opponent of the welfare state. “The free market is going to bring the jobs here…If we had a free movement of people, they would come, if there’s work here. They wouldn’t, if there isn’t. I understand we have got to remove the welfare benefit. That is something that libertarians have been fighting for over 50 years,” he said. “We can walk and chew gum at the same time. We can tear down the welfare state, while also allowing people to come in here and work.” Oliver’s foreign policy and economic policy converge on a vision of American leadership where economic engagement and trade drive our values and interests, as opposed to overseas military involvement. “Some of the most patriotic people are people who have fled these authoritarian dictatorships in Latin America and around the world,” he said. “We need to let them come here and utilize their economic output, their economic power here…And ultimately, what you do is…we export our values with market forces and with free and voluntary exchange, instead of the bomb, the bullet and the drone.  “This actually…helped tear down the Berlin Wall. It wasn’t just Ronald Reagan saying ‘tear down the wall.’ It was Wrangler jeans and McDonald’s and Coca-Cola and all the American exceptionalism that people wanted on the other side of the Iron Curtain that helped tear down these things and bring those forces to bear.” Finally, Oliver said he is enthused by last year’s presidential election of the self-described “anarcho-capitalist” and fellow Libertarian Javier Milei in Argentina, and hopes that it is a sign of the rising global appeal of libertarian ideas and principles. “Ultimately, we’re going to wear them down and, see, hopefully the people back at home rising up against socialism as they
