Riley Gaines visits RNC with message for New York AG Letitia James, Democrats claiming to be party for women

Riley Gaines, the former NCAA swimmer who competed against transgender athlete Lia Thomas, visited the Republican National Convention on Tuesday, where she spoke with Fox News Digital about her message to New York Attorney General Letitia James and Democrats who argue they’re the party for women’s rights.  Gaines, a guest of the New York GOP and former Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin, spoke to Fox News Digital outside the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a day after James sued Nassau County, New York, Executive Bruce Blakeman over a newly-enacted county law that would ban biological males from competing in women’s sporting events at county-run parks and facilities.  “I wish I could say I was surprised by the actions of the attorney general, but as we have seen from her history, this doesn’t surprise me. She seems to go after anyone with a dissenting viewpoint to the narrative that her and her party is pushing,” Gaines told Fox News Digital, expressing gratitude to Blakeman.  “It’s hard being in the position that he’s in one of the largest counties, to do what he has done, but it’s common sense,” Gaines said outside the convention center. “This is not a battle of right versus left. This is a humanitarian issue. The message that’s being sent by those such as the attorney general of New York, is that girls don’t matter, is that our safety doesn’t matter, and our sports, our privacy doesn’t matter in our locker rooms, and our equal opportunities don’t matter.”  ‘PUTTING OUR GIRLS AT RISK’: BIDEN’S TITLE IX CHANGES CHALLENGED BY NEARLY 70 GOP LAWMAKERS James, who also led the prosecution over former President Trump’s businesses in New York, filed a lawsuit Monday against Blakeman, claiming, “Nassau County is once again attempting to exclude transgender girls and women from participating in sporting events while claiming to support fairness.”  The state attorney general said in a statement that she and the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) already succeeded in having Blakeman’s “transphobic” executive order struck down and “now this discriminatory law must be as well,” adding that “here in New York, every person has the right to be exactly who they are free from discrimination, and my office will always protect that right.” Democrats, including President Biden, have campaigned on being the party of women’s rights and have aligned themselves on the issue of abortion ahead of November following the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade. But Gaines argued that Republicans are truly the party best protecting women’s well-being when it comes to transgender athletes competing for women’s and girls’ titles and beyond.   “The Democratic Party is the farthest thing from being the party of or for women. They can’t even define what a woman is,” Gaines told Fox News Digital. “So how in the world can you claim to defend what you can’t define? Why I’m here is to merely share the simple message that men and women are different, but it’s really broader than just the sports angle.”  WOMEN UNDER BIDEN ADMINISTRATION’S TITLE IX CHANGES FACE THE ‘EVISCERATION OF LEGAL WOMANHOOD,’ EXPERTS SAY “The Democratic Party is the total denial of truth,” Gaines claimed, “objective truth, biological reality, a truth we have never struggled to understand in the nearly 250 years we’ve been established as a country, that truth is man and woman.”  Gaines, who a year ago endorsed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for president, threw her support behind Trump on Tuesday. DeSantis, who ended his 2024 White House bid in January, also spoke in support of Trump as the newly-official Republican presidential nominee on the convention stage later Tuesday night.  “In November, I will be voting for Donald J. Trump. And I encourage every female, every woman, every mother, every sister, every daughter, to also vote for Donald J. Trump,” Gaines told Fox News Digital. “There is only one party, there is only one ticket that will uphold sex-based protections that will fight for sex-based rights such as safety, privacy and equal opportunity. Whether that’s sports, whether that’s prisons, whether that’s domestic violence shelters, whether that’s bathrooms, sororities, locker rooms, dorm rooms.”  Last week, the U.S. House narrowly passed Resolution 165, which aims to block the implementation of the Biden administration’s new Title IX protections overhauling the Education Amendments Act of 1972. The new interpretation redefines the definition of sexual discrimination to include gender identity.  “210 Republicans voted in favor of protecting women and girls in sports, upholding Title IX’s original intent,” Gaines said, while slamming the 205 Democrats who voted against the resolution.  CLICK TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP “Every single last one of the mothers and fathers of their own young daughters, all 205 Democrats who voted in opposition of protecting women and girls in sports are in our dorm rooms, our locker rooms, our bathrooms, our scholarships, compelling your speech,” Gaines said. “Again, how as a woman could you vote for that, knowing not just for yourself, but for the next generation? So that’s why I will be voting for Donald Trump.”

Katie Britt takes swipe at Kamala Harris amid debate talk: Vance will ‘run circles’ around her

MILWAUKEE — Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance will “run circles” around Vice President Kamala Harris in a debate, Alabama Sen. Katie Britt told Fox News Digital in an interview at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. Britt, a rising star in the GOP who delivered the official Republican rebuttal to President Biden’s State of the Union address earlier this year, praised Vance ahead of his highly anticipated convention speech Wednesday night and predicted Americans would “love” him the moment they get to know him. “I am excited to watch him debate Kamala Harris because it will not even be a contest. With all due respect to the vice president, our next vice president of the United States, JD Vance, is going to run circles around her. No doubt,” Britt said. VP FINALIST MARCO RUBIO ARRIVES AT RNC WITH PRAISE FOR TRUMP FOLLOWING SELECTION OF JD VANCE AS RUNNING MATE “I am honored not only to call JD a colleague, but to call him a friend … The best part about it is we’ve gotten to know each other as people, and when the American people get to know JD Vance, they are going to love everything about him.” Britt later said Vance’s life story of pulling himself up by his bootstraps and pushing through “unimaginable” circumstances was part of why he is “uniquely suited to push forward President Trump’s agenda of secure borders, safe streets, stable prices, and really showing strength across the globe.” She described the feeling of seeing Trump enter the convention hall on Monday to stand alongside Vance for the first time since his attempted assassination over the weekend as “electric.” VANCE, HARRIS DISCUSS DEBATE IN ‘BRIEF AND RESPECTFUL’ FIRST PHONE CONVERSATION SINCE VP NOD “It was amazing. I mean, you could feel the energy,” Britt said. “Watching him walk in to “God Bless America,” there was a peace and a hope and a resiliency that not only came from him, but I think radiated across the entire arena.” Harris called Vance to congratulate him after Trump announced him as his running mate and expressed hope they could meet at a vice presidential debate proposed by CBS News to be held at a later date. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP Trump previously accepted a vice presidential debate on behalf of his future running mate to be hosted on Fox News. However, the Biden campaign has only been willing to do the debate on CBS.  No vice presidential debate has been confirmed yet, but Biden and Trump agreed to two presidential debates. The first was hosted by CNN on June 27 and the second will be hosted by ABC News on Sept. 10. Fox News’ Julia Johnson contributed to this report. Trump ex-adviser Peter Navarro to speak at RNC hours after release from prison

Trump ex-adviser Peter Navarro to speak at RNC hours after release from prison

A top adviser to then-President Donald Trump, Peter Navarro, has been released from a Miami prison and is expected to speak at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night.  Navarro, 75, was convicted after being found in contempt of Congress and was sentenced to four months in a federal prison in Miami in March.  “I will walk proudly in there to do my time,” Navarro said during a press conference before turning himself in. “I will gather strength from this: Donald John Trump is the nominee.” Navarro is set to speak in the 6 p.m. hour local time in Milwuakee on Wednesday night.  TRUMP AIDE’S SENTENCE FOR DEFYING CONGRESS HIGHLIGHTS ‘TWO-TIER’ JUSTICE SYSTEM: OBSERVER The RNC’s theme Wednesday is “Make America Strong Again.”  Navarro, who served as former President Trump’s trade adviser, was the second Trump aide convicted of a misdemeanor contempt of Congress charge. Former White House adviser Steve Bannon previously received a four-month sentence but was allowed to stay free pending appeal by U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols, who was appointed by Trump. TRUMP WHITE HOUSE OFFICIAL PETER NAVARRO SENTENCED TO 4 MONTHS FOR DEFYING JAN 6 SUBPOENA Navarro said he could not cooperate with the committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack because Trump had invoked executive privilege, an argument that lower courts have rejected. EX-FBI OFFICIAL WHO SHUT DOWN HUNTER BIDEN LINES OF INVESTIGATION VIOLATED HATCH ACT WITH ANTI-TRUMP POSTS “When I received that congressional subpoena, the second, I had an honest belief that the privilege had been invoked, and I was torn. Nobody in my position should be put in conflict between the legislative branch and the executive branch. Is that the lesson of this entire proceeding? Get a letter and a lawyer? I think in a way it is,” Navarro said in January. Trump supporters’ fist-raised ‘Fight’ chant becomes new rallying cry after assassination attempt

Trump supporters’ fist-raised ‘Fight’ chant becomes new rallying cry after assassination attempt

Supporters of former President Trump have adopted a new rallying cry in the wake of the assassination attempt this past weekend. Chants of “Fight! Fight! Fight!” could be heard throughout the stadium hosting the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The chant echoes Trump’s own shout moments after being shot at his rally in Pennsylvania. Trump raised his fist and yelled in defiance as the Secret Service escorted him off the stage from his Butler rally. The incident has become a heavy unifying force for the Republican Party, with even Trump’s rivals in the party speaking on his behalf at the RNC. TRUMP WOULD-BE ASSASSIN CLIMBED AIR CONDITIONING UNIT TO ACCESS SHOOTING PERCH: REPORT Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who was the last remaining challenger to Trump in the GOP primary race, gave her full endorsement to the former president during a Tuesday night speech. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, the second most popular figure in the party, also praised Trump in his own speech Tuesday night. NEIGHBOR SAYS TRUMP SHOOTER’S FAMILY HAD NO POLITICAL SIGNS IN YARD AS PARENTS’ AFFILIATIONS SURFACE “You don’t have to agree with Trump 100% of the time to vote for him,” Haley said. “Take it from me. I haven’t always agreed with President Trump. But we agree more often than we disagree.” DeSantis echoed the message of unity in his own remarks, taking the stage just after Haley. TRUMP ANNOUNCES OHIO SEN JD VANCE AS HIS 2024 RUNNING MATE “My fellow Republicans, let’s send Joe Biden back to his basement and let’s send Donald Trump back to the White House. Life was more affordable when Donald Trump was president. Our border was safer under the Trump administration, and our country was respected when Donald Trump was our commander in chief,” DeSantis said. Trump’s newly picked running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, is set to be the headline speaker at the convention on Wednesday night.

Who is Kai Trump? Donald Trump’s eldest grandchild to speak at 2024 RNC

Who is Kai Trump? Donald Trump’s eldest grandchild to speak at 2024 RNC

Donald J. Trump is often referred to as “President Trump” or “Mr. President,” and has formerly been known as “Commander in Chief,” “POTUS” and “45,” as he was the 45th President of the United States. He has also enjoyed several other prominent titles. However, before Trump was the leader of the free world, he was lovingly known as “dad” to five children, including Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany and Barron, and “grandpa” to 10 grandchildren, beginning with the eldest, Kai. Kai, 17, is seemingly ready to be cast into America’s political spotlight as she is slated to speak at the 2024 Republican National Convention on Day 3 of the event in Milwaukee. LIVE UPDATES: REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION Ohio Sen. JD Vance, Trump’s vice presidential pick, will also take center stage tonight. Recently, the daughter of Don Jr. and Vanessa Trump, now divorced, was a regaled guest of Dana White’s at the UFC 303 fight, which she attended opposite her dad. The Florida teen posed for photographs with White, the president of the UFC, former NFL superstar Aaron Rodgers and country music star Jelly Roll, among other A-listers. Kai, born May 12, 2007, is an enthusiastic golfer. She is active on social media and regularly posts about her golf skills. Last year, the Florida native started a YouTube channel. She kickstarted the outreach social media page with a video titled, “Get to know Kai Trump!” “It should overall be a fun channel,” Kai said in the clip. DONALD TRUMP JR. GAVE DAUGHTER A PUPPY FOR HER BIRTHDAY As Kai scampers around a golf course, her friend asks questions, and she gives viewers insight into some of her favorite things, which includes pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks, proscuitto meat and ricotta cheese, and playing pickleball and tennis. In March, Kai won the ladies’ club championship at the private Trump Golf Club in West Palm Beach. She has posted photographs and clips in the past playing with golf professional and PGA player Bryson DeChambeau. Mixed into her fitness reels, Kai reminds social media users that she is an undoubted supporter of her grandpa. On Saturday, while speaking to supporters at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, former President Trump was shot by a lone gunman perched on a rooftop nearby. He was struck in the ear before Secret Service agents covered him and removed him from the stage. Before being escorted away, the former president was recorded straight-armed with his fist in the air shouting “fight, fight, fight” to the crowd. Kai took to Instagram to express her admiration for her grandfather’s unwavering will to wrangle the U.S. political system for the people. She wrote, “We love you Grandpa. Never stop fighting!”  In mid-June, Kai joined tens of thousands of people at Turning Point USA’s leadership summit event hosted by Charlie Kirk in Detroit. She was photographed with former President Trump, Don Jr. and her brother, Don III, 15. Trump will return to Detroit on Saturday with Vance for their first campaign rally as the official Republican ticket for the 2024 elections. The rally will be hosted indoors. Kai’s other siblings include Tristan, Spencer and Chloe.

CA school district sues Newsom over bill banning schools from notifying parents of child’s gender identity

CA school district sues Newsom over bill banning schools from notifying parents of child’s gender identity

A Southern California school district is suing Gov. Gavin Newsom over a law banning schools from enacting polices to notify parents if their child uses different pronouns or gender identity at school. Newsom signed the law Monday and received extensive praise from LGBTQ lobbying groups. The school district argues the law violates parents’ rights under the U.S. Constitution. “PK-12 minor students, most of whom are too young to drive, vote, or provide medical consent for themselves, are also too young to make life-altering decisions about their expressed gender identity without their parents’ knowledge. But that is precisely what AB 1955 enables—with potentially devastating consequences for children too young to fully comprehend them,” Emily Rae, senior counsel at the Liberty Justice Center (LJC), said in a statement. “School officials do not have the right to keep secrets from parents, but parents do have a constitutional right to know what their minor children are doing at school. Parents are the legal guardians of their children, not Governor Newsom,” she added. Rae and the LJC are representing the school district in its court battle. CALIFORNIA LAWMAKER’S MIC CUT OFF WHILE READING BILL TO END SANCTUARY STATE LAWS, SAYS DEMS ‘DON’T CARE’ Newsom’s office did not immediately respond to a Fox News Digital request for comment, but they told NBC News that they are confident that the law is in line with the Constitution and are planning to fight the lawsuit in court. “California law ensures minors can’t legally change their name or gender without parental consent, and parents continue to have guaranteed and full access to their student’s educational records consistent with federal law,” Newsom spokeswoman Izzy Gardon told the outlet. “We’re confident the state will swiftly prevail in this case.” TRANSGENDER ATHLETE COMPLAINS ABOUT LACK OF SPORTSMANSHIP FROM FELLOW RUNNERS AFTER WINNING GIRLS STATE TITLE The lawsuit came the same day that billionaire Elon Musk weighed in, saying he plans to move the headquarters of SpaceX and the social media platform X to Texas from California, in part because of the new law. “This is the final straw. Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas,” Musk wrote in a post on X. NEWSOM ATTACKS DEMOCRACY IN CALIFORNIA, BUT WANTS TO TAKE THAT NATIONAL The new law comes after several school districts in California passed policies requiring that parents be notified if a child requests to change their gender identification. That led to pushback by Democratic state officials, who say students have a right to privacy.  AB 1955 also requires the state Department of Education to develop resources for families of LGBTQ students in grade 7 through high school. The law is set to take effect in January. Fox News’ Bradford Betz and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

65% of Democrats say Biden should drop out after debate disaster, poll finds

65% of Democrats say Biden should drop out after debate disaster, poll finds

A new poll released on Wednesday found that 65% of Democrats say President Biden should drop out following his disastrous debate performance against former President Trump.  The AP-NORC survey – which was conducted July 11-15, mostly completed before the attempted assassination of Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania over the weekend – found that 7 in 10 adults, including 65% of Democrats, say Biden should withdraw and allow his party to select a different nominee. Overall, 57% of adults say Trump should withdraw from the race and allow his party to name a replacement. But Trump is maintaining support from his party, with 73% of Republicans saying he should stay in the race. Biden is facing more resistance from his party, with only 35% of Democrats saying he should continue his re-election campaign.  BIDEN RESPONDS TO ‘DISENCHANTMENT’ FROM BLACK VOTERS: ‘THEY KNOW WHERE MY HEART IS’ The survey found that more people view Biden as honest than those who feel the same way as Trump, but Trump is more likely to be seen as capable of winning in November and better able to handle a crisis, according to the Associated Press.  Black Democrats are among Biden’s strongest supporters. Half of Black Democrats say he should continue running, while only a third of White and Hispanic Democrats say the same. FOUR IN FIVE AMERICANS FEAR NATION SPIRALING INTO CHAOS, NEW POLL FINDS Younger Democrats are more likely to want Biden to withdraw from the race. Three-quarters of Democrats under the age of 45 want Biden to drop out, compared to 57% of those over the age of 45. Thirty-seven percent of Democrats are satisfied with Biden as their party’s nominee. Before last month’s debate, 42% were satisfied. But the number of Democrats who are dissatisfied has grown from 38% to 48%. In contrast, about 6 in 10 Republicans continue to be satisfied with Trump, while roughly a quarter are dissatisfied with him at the top of the Republican ticket in November. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Biden responds to ‘disenchantment’ from Black voters: ‘They know where my heart is’

Biden responds to ‘disenchantment’ from Black voters: ‘They know where my heart is’

President Biden in a recent interview addressed Black voters‘ “disenchantment” with his re-election bid.  Biden recently sat down for an interview with BET’s Ed Gordon in Las Vegas, which is scheduled to air in full Wednesday night. In the third and final clip teased on Wednesday morning during “CBS Mornings,” Gordan described a “disenchantment” felt among Black voters and asked the president to make his case to them.  “If I’m honest with you, the enthusiasm this time around is not the same as the last time you won. There is a certain disenchantment,” Gordan told the president. “Detroit, Philadelphia, Atlanta are going to be deciding factors in that 270 you’ve got to get to. I’d like you to take a moment and tell Black America why they should turn out for you.”  “Because they know where my heart is, they know where my head is,” Biden responded.  BIDEN’S DOC NOT TALKING AS WHITE HOUSE SPURNS PRESS CORPS REQUESTS “And by the way, if you’ve noticed whether it’s young Blacks or young Whites or young Hispanics or young Asian Americans, they never focused until after Labor Day,” the president continued. “I mean the idea that they’re focused intently on the election right now is, is not there. And by the way, if you look at the presidents who have won at this stage of the game in the last seven or eight presidents, five of them were losing at this time by significant margins. We’re just getting down to game time now.”  Biden also said that he would step aside from the race if “some medical condition” emerged and doctors told him that “you got this problem.” Admitting he made a “serious mistake” with the debate, Biden said when he initially ran for president he said he would be a “transitional candidate” and thought he would be able to “just pass it on to someone else,” but “didn’t anticipate things getting so, so, so divided.” ‘DEFENSIVE’ BIDEN LASHES OUT AT VULNERABLE DEMS WARNING OF NOVEMBER LOSSES: REPORTS “And quite frankly, I think the only thing age brings is a little bit of wisdom,” Biden told Gordan. “And I think I’ve demonstrated that I know how to get things done for the country, in spite of the fact we’re told we couldn’t get it done. But there’s more to do, and I’m reluctant to walk away from that.”  Biden spoke at the NAACP convention in Nevada on Tuesday, his first speech since the assassination attempt on former President Trump at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.  The president condemned political violence and also touted that he has the most diverse administration in all of U.S. history, before stating Vice President Kamala Harris “could be president.”
