Conservatives rip RNC for giving ‘SlutWalk’ organizer Amber Rose a speaking slot

Several conservative entities expressed outrage on Friday after news broke that Amber Rose, the model and TV personality and ex-girlfriend of Kanye West, would be speaking at the Republican National Convention (RNC). Critics called out the GOP for giving such prominence to Rose, a rapper and model who also wrote “How to Be a Bad B—h,” with one critic sharing a video of her discussing Satanism. “George W. Bush, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, Liz Cheney, Nikki Haley, and Ron DeSantis weren’t invited to speak at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee next week. But no worries. Rapper and model Amber Rose will give a speech,” read a post on X from the account “Republicans Against Trump.” “Wait until Trump finds out about this tweet,” they added, citing Rose’s adamant opposition to Trump in 2016. TRUMP EX MARLA MAPLES RESPONDS TO VEEP TALK: ‘I’M OPEN… TO SERVE’ “Man, f— the fact he’s old, and f— the fact that he was on TV,” Rose wrote at the time, calling the now-GOP nominee a “sexual predator.” More recently, however, Rose has posted photos to social media of herself in a bikini wearing a “MAGA” hat, endorsed the presumptive GOP nominee in May and shared another photo of herself with the former president and former first lady Melania Trump. “Is Donald Trump not for women’s rights issues? – He’s trying to Make America Great Again – that’s for women too,” Rose told a TMZ camerawoman. “I think [getting convicted in New York] helps him more,” she added, citing the “injustice” it represented. “We just did our research and we’re not brainwashed anymore by the left,” Rose added. The Lincoln Project, a consortium of anti-Trump activists on the right, also lamented the move, saying, “This is what the Republican Party has become.” Conservative “Blaze” host Steve Deace commented, “If this is winning the culture war it’s for a culture I want no part of.” TRUMP SON-IN-LAW MICHAEL BOULOS MEETS WITH DOZENS OF ARAB-AMERICAN LEADERS IN EFFORT TO CURRY FAVOR Fox News Digital also reached out to evangelical leader Ralph Reed and the Faith & Freedom Coalition for comment. A representative for the Family Research Center, a pro-life, pro-family group on the right, also did not respond by press time. Longtime conservative columnist Jonah Goldberg, who has criticized Trump in the past, wrote simply, “Res ipsa loquitur.” The phrase comes from Latin, roughly describing something that “speaks for itself.” Podcaster Dr. Taylor Marshall criticized the contrast between Rose speaking this year and previous Trump-nominating conventions where Sister Deirdre Byrne, a pro-life nun, as well as pro-life activist Abby Johnson were given speaking slots. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP “Now they will platform Amber Rose who is the founder of “The Slut Walk” and vocally pro-abortion and pro-LGBT. This is a hard left turn into degeneracy,” Marshall said. However, at least one conservative activist welcomed Rose’s speaking slot. Xaviaer DuRousseau, who has appeared on “The Ingraham Angle” in the past as a young conservative voice, said he cannot wait to hear Rose “speak truth at the RNC.” “Amber Rose is one of many Black Americans who finally woke up from the Left’s lies after doing her own research about President Trump,” he said, calling her addition to the guest list proof the convention will be a “historic event.” Clips of Rose’s past controversial comments began making the rounds online after the news broke, with X user Peter Henlein sharing the following clip of a past interview with the Philadelphia native. “I’m not a Satanist… Satanists are just atheists as well, but they’re just more political. OK. They, they have, like — it’s actually a very rational, logical religion. They help a lot of people, a lot of women to get abortions in Southern states that, you know, where they’re illegal,” she said in the clip. The Republican National Committee did not respond to a request for comment at press time.
Trump and allies thrilled with Biden press conference: ‘Too much gold not to use’

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and allies see President Biden’s highly anticipated and much-scrutinized news conference as a win-win for the former president. “It appears Biden did enough to convince his apologists that he should remain on the ballot, but he also reinforced what the American people know. Their lives are being hurt by his weakness and failure on a daily basis,” a Trump campaign official, who asked for anonymity to speak more freely, told Fox News Digital after Thursday night’s press conference. As the president continues to push back against a rising chorus of calls from within the Democratic Party for him to step aside and end his 2024 re-election campaign following last month’s disastrous debate performance with Trump, the news conference didn’t appear to do any further damage. But it’s also doubtful it will stem the growing movement to urge Biden to drop out of the race. FIRST ON FOX: TOP PRO-TRUMP SUPER PAC SHOWCASES MASSIVE FUNDRAISING HAUL Trump’s campaign hopes Biden stays in the race. Trump’s campaign appears to believe he is the weakest candidate for the former president to face. The Trump campaign continues to argue the 81-year-old Biden isn’t physically or mentally up to the task of serving as president. WATCH: BIDEN’S REACTION TO MIXING UP NAMES After Biden mistakenly referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as “Vice President Trump,” Trump’s social media account quickly shared a clip of the moment, with the former president writing, “Great job, Joe!” Trump also posted on social media some of the other stumbles and gaffes by the president at the high-stakes news conference. Donald Trump Jr., who’s a top surrogate for this father, said on his Rumble livestream that Biden did “fine enough to be able to stay in it” but later shared a social media post that blended the faces of Trump and Harris together and said “Vice President Trump.” Veteran Republican consultant Dave Carney told Fox News the news conference “couldn’t have been better.” “He didn’t drool, he didn’t fall, he didn’t freeze up,” Carney, who steers a leading pro-Trump super PAC, noted. SOURCES SAY BIDEN FUNDRAISING TAKES A HIT AMID RISING CALLS FROM DEMOCRATS FOR PRESIDENT TO END 2024 CAMPAIGN But Carney argued that nothing Biden said at the news conference was “reassuring” to voters or to America’s allies. He argued that when it comes to Biden’s candidacy, things remain “unsettled,” and for Republicans, “unsettled is good.” Longtime Republican strategist Mike Biundo told Fox News the president “did enough not to get kicked out of the race but not enough to look like a competent candidate.” “From the Republican and the Trump side, I think it’s a 100% win-win for us,” added Biundo, who served as a top adviser on Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP Since the June 27 debate in Atlanta, the Trump campaign and super PACs supporting the former president have refrained from using clips of the president’s stumbles in ads. They’ve mostly laid low and allowed the media spotlight to remain on Biden and the Democratic Party turmoil over his candidacy. Asked if Trump’s campaign or allied groups should use clips of the gaffes from the news conference in ads, Biundo said, “I’ve always been a big believer when someone’s doing damage to themselves, you allow them to do the damage, and you get out of the way. “But some of those clips are just too much gold not to use.” Get the latest updates from the 2024 campaign trail, exclusive interviews and more at our Fox News Digital election hub.
Trump, GOP take aim at Kamala Harris as her popularity rises: ‘Biden’s enabler in chief’

As President Joe Biden endures the harsh spotlight after his poor debate performance and subsequent gaffes during his highly anticipated NATO “big boy press conference,” Vice President Kamala Harris is also bearing the brunt of former President Trump’s jabs as she is portrayed as a potential successor. In both scenarios, Harris would succeed Biden if he resigned from office, and she would also be a top contender for the 2024 Democratic nomination if Biden suspends his 2024 re-election campaign. A national poll released by CNN last week also suggests that Harris performs slightly better than Biden in a hypothetical matchup against Trump. Trump, in a Truth Social post, accused Biden of having “choked like a dog” during the debate and offered his “congratulations” to the vice president as he dubbed her “Laffin’ Kamala Harris.” Trump has given his opponents various nicknames in the past, like “Low Energy Jeb” [Bush], “Crooked Hillary” [Clinton], and “Sleepy Joe” [Biden]. BIDEN TELLS WHITE HOUSE AUDIENCE HE’S ‘NOT GOING ANYWHERE’ DURING FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION “Also, respects to our potentially new Democrat Challenger, Laffin’ Kamala Harris,” he said. “She did poorly in the Democrat Nominating process, starting out at Number Two, and ending up defeated and dropping out, even before getting to Iowa, but that doesn’t mean she’s not a ‘highly talented’ politician!” The former president has also focused on Harris during recent rallies, and even called her “so f—–g bad,” in a leaked video of him on a golf course. At his campaign rally Tuesday night, Trump took sharper aim at Harris, accusing her of being a far leftwing ally of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and slamming her VP record. Trump also suggested that Biden will likely stay in the race because Democrats won’t want Harris as their candidate. FLASHBACK: THE LAST TIME BIDEN HAD A SOLO ‘BIG BOY PRESS CONFERENCE’ WAS EIGHT MONTHS AGO “If Joe had picked someone even halfway competent, they would have bounced him from office years ago,” Trump said during the rally. “But they can’t – because she’s got to be their second choice.” While the Trump campaign has not released any ads attacking Harris as a potential replacement for Biden, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released an ad last week called “Careful for what you wish for,” which called Harris “Biden’s enabler in chief” and pinned her as the “architect” of the migrant crisis at the southern border. “Is this who we want as president?” the ad said. “This November: Vote Republican. Stop Kamala.” WH AIDES, CAMPAIGN STAFF REPORTEDLY ‘MISERABLE’ AS PRESSURE BUILDS ON BIDEN TO DROP OUT In recent weeks, both Biden and Harris have sought to shift focus to tying Trump to the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, not just as a likely distraction from the pressure facing Biden, but also because they see it as a winning message to moderate swing state voters who could very well decide the election. “Trump’s advisers have created a 900-page blueprint — called ‘Project 2025’ — detailing everything else they plan to do in a second term, including a plan to cut Social Security, repeal our $35 cap on insulin, eliminate the Department of Education and end programs like Head Start,” Harris said at a campaign stop in Nevada on Tuesday. Trump, however, has distanced himself from the Heritage plan, describing some of its elements as “ridiculous” and “abysmal.” Leading up to the first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle, Biden’s mental acuity became the center of political discourse after a bombshell Wall Street Journal report — which the White House dismissed — revealed that many lawmakers on Capitol Hill had questions. Biden has repeatedly said he will remain in the race. Get the latest updates from the 2024 campaign trail, exclusive interviews and more at our Fox News Digital election hub. 5 takeaways from Biden’s comeback press conference

President Biden held a highly anticipated solo press conference Thursday evening to speak with the White House press corps amid concerns about his mental fortitude. For reporters, it was a definitive trial to determine if Biden’s confused and inarticulate demeanor at his first presidential debate against former President Trump was a fluke or a sign of a growing problem for the administration. Before the press conference even began, Biden started out stumbling when he introduced Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as “President Putin” at the NATO conference in Washington, D.C. “And now I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination,” Biden said, before starting to leave the podium. “Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin.” DEMS RUSH TO DEFEND BIDEN AMID HIGH-STAKES PRESS CONFERENCE: ‘VERY STRONG PERFORMANCE’ Biden seemed to realize his embarrassing verbal stumble mentioning Russian President Vladimir Putin and attempted to quickly correct himself. “He’s going to beat President Putin. President Zelenskyy. I’m so focused on beating Putin,” he said. “We got to worry about it. Anyway, Mr. President.” A similar gaffe happened once Biden began to speak, with the president confusing Vice President Kamala Harris with Trump. “I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump if I didn’t think she was qualified to be president,” Biden told the press. When President Biden finished his opening remarks, he opened the floor to questions but announced he had been “given a list of people to call on.” The statement surprised many journalists, as the Biden administration’s reliance on screening questions and pre-approving reporters has been a consistent point of criticism. During and after the press conference, Biden’s immediate team and wider ecosystem of allies were quick to tout the event as an overwhelming success. Many claimed the president’s answers regarding foreign policy issues showed him to have expertise in international affairs. BIDEN’S HIGH-STAKES SOLO PRESS CONFERENCE SLAMMED FROM THE RIGHT AS ‘ANOTHER DISASTER’ “To answer the question on everyone’s minds: No, Joe Biden does not have a doctorate in foreign affairs. He’s just that f—ing good,” White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates wrote in a post to X. Joel Rubin, a former State Department official during the Obama administration, considered Biden’s performance to be “very strong.” “This is a very strong performance. Quite frankly. @POTUS is putting on a master class in how foreign policy and domestic policy intersect, explaining how crucial American global leadership is to our people here at home. Well done, Mr. President,” Rubin wrote in a post on X. One Democratic activist went so far as to say he believes there are “people who owe President Biden an apology” after the president’s press conference. The press conference was panned as a “disaster” on social media by conservatives, who criticized the president for a performance they said featured Biden stumbling through answers to reporters’ questions about foreign policy and the 2024 presidential race. Many cracked jokes about the president’s multiple mix-ups on names, including Trump himself. JEN PSAKI SAYS WHITE HOUSE RESPONSE TO BIDEN HEALTH CONCERNS IS FAILING: ‘STRATEGY IS NOT GOING WELL’ “Crooked Joe begins his ‘Big Boy’ Press Conference with, ‘I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president, though I think she was not qualified to be president.’ Great job, Joe!” Trump joked on his proprietary social media platform, Truth Social. Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that Democrats in Congress and supporters of the president want to see leadership in the effort to defeat Trump in November but cannot decide how to proceed. “Nobody knows the path forward,” Psaki said. “And members of Congress and people who are rooting for him want to know, how do you win this race? How do you defeat Donald Trump? People just want a little something to go with, and they don’t have it.” At least 10 House Democrats and one in the Senate have publicly called on Biden to end his re-election bid, and a growing number of both House and Senate Democrats have publicly and privately warned that the president will lose to Trump in November. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP Former House Speaker House Nancy Pelosi said earlier this week the Democrats are keeping their thoughts on Biden quiet “until we see how we go this week.” “Let’s just hold off,” she said on MSNBC. “Whatever you’re thinking, either tell somebody privately, but you don’t have to put that out on the table until we see how we go this week.” Fox News Digital’s Paul Steinhauser, Jeffrey Clark, Sarah Rumpf-Whitten, Emma Colton and Kyle Morris contributed to this report.
Schumer keeps doubts about Biden private, won’t undermine POTUS publicly, Democrats say: report

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. has told members of his conference in private that he has serious doubts about President Biden’s ability to win re-election, according to a report. Schumer reportedly agrees with what many Democrats have said publicly — that the 81-year-old Biden appears too old and slow to carry the party to victory against former President Trump — but he does not believe the president’s re-election campaign is “irretrievable,” The Hill reported, citing three unnamed Senate sources. “Schumer has told colleagues he doesn’t want to say anything publicly to question Biden’s viability as a candidate or to pressure him to abandon his campaign because he fears that would undermine the president and could hurt Democrats down ballot in the fall election,” the report said. A spokesman for Schumer did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment. SCHUMER REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR BIDEN IN WAKE OF REPORT HE’S OPEN TO PRESIDENT’S OUSTER AS 2024 NOMINEE The majority leader has stood by Biden in public comments since the president’s widely panned debate performance last month. But at least 17 Democratic lawmakers, numerous editorial writers and several pundits have urged Biden to abandon his 2024 campaign amid growing concern over the president’s mental acuity and ability to handle the responsibilities of campaigning and the presidency. On Wednesday, Axios reported that Schumer signaled to Democratic donors that he is open to replacing Biden atop the 2024 ticket. The report said Schumer has been listening to donors’ ideas and suggestions that the best way for the party to move forward and debate former President Trump is removing Biden. In a statement on Wednesday to Fox News after the Axios report, Schumer reaffirmed his commitment to Biden. “As I have made clear repeatedly publicly and privately, I support President Biden and remain committed to ensuring Donald Trump is defeated in November,” he said. BLUMENTHAL SAYS SOME CONCERNS ‘DEEPENED’ AFTER MEETING WITH BIDEN CAMP ADVISERS Earlier this week, Schumer presided over a meeting at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) involving Democratic senators, senior Biden advisers Mike Donilon and Steve Ricchetti and campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon. The Biden aides fielded questions and concerns from antsy lawmakers nervous that Biden could lose the election and drag down other Democrats in key battleground states. “I need to see more analytics and data that show a path to victory,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., told reporters after the meeting, expressing that his “concerns” about Biden remain. “Joe Biden has to continue effectively and aggressively meeting the concerns of the American people,” he said. Sen. Peter Welch, D-Vt., who became the first Democratic senator to call on Biden to exit the race on Wednesday, attended the meeting at the DSCC as well. “This was an opportunity for the campaign to come and tell us where they’re at and for senators to ask questions [and] make comments,” he said afterward. SCHUMER SILENT AS WORRIES OVER BIDEN’S FITNESS SWELL IN SENATE When reporters asked if he now felt differently about Biden’s candidacy after hearing from the advisers, he said, “I’m where I’m at, you know.” He said in a Washington Post op-ed on Wednesday that he didn’t believe Biden was the best Democratic candidate to beat Trump. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., called on the Biden campaign to be “stronger and clear, not only in defending their own record, but in creating an agenda for the future, especially for the needs of the working class of this country.” Schumer’s House counterpart, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., has also kept his personal thoughts on Biden close to the chest. With the party in turmoil over what to do about the aged president, Jeffries sat back over the past two weeks and listened to a wide range of voices in the House Democratic conference in an effort to keep the party united. On Friday, Jeffries revealed in a letter to Democratic members that he met with Biden privately on Thursday evening and “expressed the full breadth of insight, heartfelt perspectives and conclusions about the path forward that the Caucus has shared in our recent time together.” The letter did not state whether Jeffires encouraged the president to change his mind about the 2024 campaign. Though a handful of elected Democrats have called on Biden to withdraw from the race, the vast majority of the party has said they will support the president if he accepts the Democratic nomination. Biden faced no serious challengers in the Democratic primary and won millions of votes from the party faithful, earning 3,896 delegates during the campaign — vastly more than the 1,968 needed to clinch the nomination. He remains the resounding choice of Democratic voters and continues to poll competitively against Trump. Biden pressing on with ‘full bore’ schedule, despite admission he needs to slow ‘pace’

President Biden said Thursday he needs to “pace” himself and insisted he should take on a more robust schedule ahead of the 2024 election, despite growing concern from members of his own party about whether he is fit to serve as president. Biden’s comments about his schedule came during a NATO press conference as he fielded questions from reporters, one of whom asked about a recent New York Times report claiming Biden told Democratic governors in a private meeting at the White House that he would stop scheduling events after 8 p.m. so he could get more sleep. “That’s not true. What I said was, instead of my every day starting at 7 [a.m.] and going to bed at midnight, it would be smarter for me to pace myself a little more,” the president said. “And I said, for example … instead of starting a fundraiser at 9 o’clock, start it at 8 o’clock. People get to go home by 10 [p.m.]. That’s what I’m talking about.” Biden also appeared to take a shot at his own staff for adding additional events and appearances to his schedule, which resulted in him “catching hell” from first lady Jill Biden. BIDEN CAMPAIGN MANAGER ADMITS ‘BAD F—ING WEEKS’ IN CANDID CALL WITH STAFF: REPORT “The next debate I’m not going to be traveling in 15 time zones a week before. Anyway, that’s what it was about. That’s what it was about — and by the way, even with that, I love my staff, but they add things. They add things all the time. I’m catching hell from my wife,” he added. Biden urged reporters to look at what he has done since his disastrous debate performance against former President Trump on June 27, saying his “schedule has been full bore” with “roughly 20 events, some with thousands of people showing up.” In line with his vow to “pace” himself, it appears things could slow down for the president over the next few days. The president, according to his schedule, plans to spend the weekend at the beach in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware – a popular retreat for the president during his tenure in the White House – after a campaign event in Michigan. On Friday, the president will travel to Wayne County, Michigan, where he will participate in a campaign event at 6 p.m. Aside from the lone campaign event, the president’s Friday schedule appears to be clear. Most of his day will be spent traveling. However, when he returns to work next week, the president will gear up for additional high-stakes interviews amid the Republican National Convention, which is taking place in Milwaukee from July 15 to 18. HUGE MAJORITY OF DEMOCRATS SAY BIDEN MUST STEP ASIDE EVEN AS BIDEN-TRUMP HORSE RACE IS TIED: POLL Biden is slated to take part in a taped, one-on-one interview with “NBC Nightly News” anchor Lester Holt on Monday from Austin, Texas. That interview, which will mark the president’s second cable news appearance since his rocky debate last month, will air in its entirety at 9 p.m. ET the same day. The president will also take part in two additional interviews next week, according to Dylan Byers, a senior correspondent for Puck News. Byers reported Thursday that Biden would take part in a Tuesday interview with a “Black national media outlet” during the NAACP Conference, and another on Wednesday with a “Latino national media outlet.” Those interviews will come as Biden continues his attempt to convince members of his own party, as well as voters from different corners of America who have concerns about his age and mental acuity, that he is up to the task of four more years in the White House. A large majority of Americans want Biden to drop out of the race, including a majority of his own supporters, according to a Thursday poll from ABC News and the Washington Post that was released ahead of his press conference. A full 67% of respondents said Biden should drop out of the race, and 85% say he is too old to serve out a second term. Meanwhile, 60% of respondents also said former President Trump is too old for a second term, up from 44% in the spring of 2023. Among Democrats and voters who said they lean Democratic, 62% said Biden needs to drop out of the race. Even among self-professed Biden supporters, 54% said he needs to drop out. Despite that, the poll found that Biden and Trump are virtually tied, despite voters’ lack of confidence in Biden, with 46% saying they would vote for the current president and 47% saying they support Trump. A total of 18 elected Democrats have called on Biden to step aside in the White House race. Fox News Digital’s Anders Hagstrom contributed to this report.
Biden announces that Israel and Hamas have agreed to a ‘framework’ for cease-fire deal: ‘still work to do’

President Biden has announced that Israel and Hamas have agreed to a “framework” for a cease-fire deal using the plan he laid out in May. “Six weeks ago I laid out a comprehensive framework for how to achieve a ceasefire and bring the hostages home,” Biden announced on social media platform X. “There is still work to do and these are complex issues, but that framework is now agreed to by both Israel and Hamas,” Biden added. “My team is making progress, and I’m determined to get this done.” BORDER FIRE BETWEEN ISRAEL, HEZBOLLAH CONTINUES AS DELEGATES PREPARE TO MEDIATE CEASEFIRE WITH HAMAS A senior administration source told Fox News earlier this week that this announcement was supposed to come out on Monday. The two sides had already agreed to the framework as of a few days ago and the U.S. sent a delegation out to the region to wrap it up and prep a formal ceasefire announcement. It remains unclear what caused a delay in the announcement, but Biden has faced increasing calls to step aside and let another Democrat run as the nominee for president in November’s election. Biden has repeatedly stressed that he believes he is the only candidate able to beat former President Trump in an election, and during his press conference at the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, he explained that he believes continuity in leadership is important to achieve many of the foreign policy goals still on the table.
