Supporters rally around Trump outside NYC courthouse: Biden ‘ain’t for’ Black America

Trump supporters, who gathered outside the New York City courtroom on Wednesday where the former president is facing criminal charges, rallied in support of him and sounded off on the “judicial lynching” they say he is facing with the trial. “I love Trump and I love what he did for me and my people, Black people, he really helped us out,” a Black New Yorker wearing a Trump hat told Fox News Digital. “What they doing right now is really ridiculous, these court cases and everything that they doing towards him…they trying to stop the momentum from winning the election.” “It ain’t happening man, we f— with Trump, Black people we really with Trump.” COULD VERDICT IN TRUMP CRIMINAL TRIAL UPEND THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION? The man went on to dismiss the idea that the Biden administration is defending “Black America.” “Biden ain’t for no Black America,” the man continued. “I lost everything since Biden been in, I had a whole limousine business, I had a whole car business selling cars, buying and selling cars, that all went down the drain when Biden got in. I had to go now sleep in the God d— car. I don’t get a free hotel like immigrants get.” NY V TRUMP: FORMER PRESIDENT UNLEASHES SOCIAL MEDIA FIRESTORM AHEAD OF JURY DELIBERATION “We gotta get them outta there,” the man, who identified himself as being from New York, said about politicians who say there is “no place for Trump in New York.” “They don’t do nothing for us, AOC don’t do nothing for us,” he added. “This is a judicial lynching, he did nothing wrong,” a white man wearing a “Gays for Trump” shirt told Fox News Digital on Wednesday afternoon. “He will be found innocent, even if he isn’t and he’s railroaded by the Democratic Marxist party, I will vote for him regardless of the outcome.” Conservative activist and artist Scott LoBaido also spoke to Fox News Digital outside the courtroom and said the court is “humiliating not only Donald Trump” and “not only us” but “the judicial system itself.” “I’m here to return the favor and humiliate them,” LoBaido, who unveiled a portrait he painted mocking actor Robert DeNiro who was strongly criticized for bashing Trump outside the courtroom on Tuesday, told Fox News Digital. “This guy’s a cry baby, spoiled rotten, he doesn’t understand these people that can’t afford a dozen eggs, can’t afford gas, that have illegal aliens rampaging through their neighborhoods, crime, he’s protected, and for him to call us haters of Democracy? No.” Not everyone gathered outside the New York City courtroom had glowing things to say about the former president including one Black man who told the camera that Trump has “released a spirit of delusion” and a “spirit of division.” Jurors in the case were handed their final instructions on Wednesday and were sent out to deliberate on Trump’s guilt in the 34 charges against him stemming from allegations he improperly covered up an NDA agreement with porn star Stormy Daniels. Trump has pleaded not guilty on all counts and dismissed the allegations as a political prosecution. The jury went home for the day around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday and is set to resume deliberations on Thursday morning. Fox News Digital’s Matteo Cina contributed to this report

Critics accuse Buttigieg of ‘playing politics’ after comments linking turbulence to climate change

Critics are responding to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who has attributed recent significant weather events and transportation crises to climate change, at least in part. On Sunday, Buttigieg was featured on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” where he claimed the effects of climate change are to blame for recent incidents of severe turbulence on airplanes and extreme weather. Anchor Margaret Brennan asked Buttigieg about strains on the national transportation system when bad weather compounds a heavy travel weekend like Memorial Day and what he thinks of NOAA’s latest outlook predicting a more severe hurricane season this year. “The reality is, the effects of climate change are already upon us in terms of our transportation,” Buttigieg replied. AUTO EXPERTS WARN BIDEN’S EV MANDATE WILL LIMIT GAS CAR OPTIONS IN THE FUTURE “We’ve seen that in the form of everything from heat waves that shouldn’t statistically even be possible threatening to melt the cables of transit systems in the Pacific Northwest to … hurricane seasons becoming more and more extreme and indications that turbulence is up by about 15%. “That means assessing anything and everything that we can do about it.” In response, GOP lawmakers and some climate analysts rejected Buttigieg’s invocation of climate change, with one legislator claiming weather and public transit systems are being politicized. “Clearly, Secretary Buttigieg is not serious about addressing our numerous transportation challenges. He is playing identity politics to the detriment of the American people,” said Rep. Aaron Bean, R-Fla., a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. “Buttigieg’s latest comments are contradicted by the National Transportation Safety Board and just another example of how out of touch he is with hardworking Americans.” 19 STATE ATTORNEYS GENERAL CHALLENGE BLUE STATES’ ‘RADICAL’ CLIMATE POLICIES Energy analyst Alex Epstein, a former Cato Institute scholar and the author of “Fossil Future,” told Fox News Digital the secretary is also wrongly attributing recent crises to climate change. “Climate itself is not meaningfully affecting transportation, but terrible climate policy, including that of Pete Buttigieg,” Epstein said. “For example, the EPA’s new pollution standards constitute a de facto EV mandate that will force Americans to drive inferior cars and place massive new demand for reliable electricity on an already failing grid.” Another climate expert pointed to the increase in overall airline flights as a reason for the concern. “One reason that more turbulence is recorded is that there are more flights,” said Diana Furchtgott-Roth, the director of the Heritage Foundation Center for Energy, Climate and the Environment. “Even if the United States stopped using all fossil fuels right now, it would only make a difference of 2/10 of one degree centigrade by the year 2100, government models show. There’s no way that these changes can be attributed to climate change. The climate is changing all the time, but there’s no reason that these changes can be attributed to the use of greenhouse gases.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP Furchtgott-Roth also attributed the prevalence of social media and connectivity on planes to people being able to report in-flight issues almost instantly. However, the Department of Transportation pushed back on critics and pointed Fox News Digital to a 2019 study in Nature magazine that discussed connections between climate change and airline turbulence. A representative for the department cited the study’s co-author, University of Reading atmospheric science professor Paul Williams, as saying study organizers had accumulated a large body of scientific evidence now that turbulence is increasing because of climate change.” “An invisible form called clear-air turbulence is generated by wind shear, which, because of climate change, is now 15% stronger than in the 1970s. We expect a further strengthening of the wind shear in the coming decades, perhaps doubling or tripling the amount of severe turbulence,” Williams wrote. Requests for comment from the House Transportation Committee’s top Republican, Sam Graves of Missouri, and top Democrat, Rick Larsen of Washington, were not returned. Calls placed to Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., chair of the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, and Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, were not returned at press time.
‘We must take action’: Red state risks legal showdown with Biden DOJ over this key issue

An immigration bill that would allow local police to arrest illegal immigrants is heading to the desk of Louisiana’s governor, bringing a potential legal showdown with the Biden administration another step closer. Senate Bill 388, authored by GOP state Sen. Valarie Hodges, was given final approval by the state’s upper chamber on Tuesday after a series of amendments. It now heads to the desk of Gov. Jeff Landry’s, who is expected to sign the bill. The bill makes it a crime for an illegal immigrant to enter or re-enter the state after having been deported. Violating the law is punishable by imprisonment of up to a year and a fine of up to $4,000. RED STATE AG PUSHES BACK AGAINST BIDEN IMMIGRATION LAWSUIT: ‘WE’RE HAPPY TO FIGHT YOU’ Louisiana’s governor would also be authorized to create an interstate compact with Texas to help control the “influx with respect to illegal immigration that consequently threatens the safety and security of Louisiana citizens.” Hodges, who is also a founding member of the Louisiana Freedom Caucus, said she was confident that the governor would sign the bill and said she has been working with his staff on the issue. “I’m excited about it because what we’re doing is standing and trying to protect our citizens of Louisiana and stand with Texas,” she told Fox News Digital in an interview on Tuesday. “It’s unfortunate that we’re having to do this, but if the federal government is not going to do it, then we must take action. That’s what we’re doing through this bill,” she said. She said that one of the main catalysts for the bill is the national security concern related to the border, and she noted recent instances of migrants entering military bases. “We’ve got to close the border and we don’t have any time to waste,” she said. BIDEN’S DOJ THREATENS ANOTHER GOP STATE WITH LAWSUIT OVER ANTI-ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION EFFORTS The law could soon attract another lawsuit from the Biden administration. So far, the administration has sued Texas, Oklahoma and Iowa in recent months over their immigration laws. The most recent lawsuit came earlier this month against Oklahoma’s law, due to go into effect in July. “We have brought this action to ensure that Oklahoma adheres to the Constitution and the framework adopted by Congress for regulation of immigration,” Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Brian Boynton said in a statement. CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF THE BORDER SECURITY CRISIS He said in a letter to Oklahoma officials that Congress has implemented a “comprehensive scheme governing noncitizens’ entry and reentry into the United States, including penalties for unlawful entry and reentry.” “HB 4156, however, seeks to create a separate state immigration scheme by imposing state criminal penalties for violating the federal prohibitions on unlawful entry and reentry. HB 4156 therefore intrudes into a field that is occupied by the federal government and is preempted,” he said. ANOTHER RED STATE MOVES A STEP CLOSER TO ENACTING TEXAS-STYLE ANTI-ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION BILL But Republicans have claimed they have to step in amid an ongoing crisis at the southern border which has directly impacted their states. They say the Biden administration has not been doing enough to combat that threat. “I would say to the Biden administration, bring your fight to Oklahoma. We’re happy to fight you,” Attorney General Gentner Drummond told Fox News Digital last week. The Louisiana attorney general also told Fox News Digital this month that it is ready to protect the state if the administration sues the state. “We’re following the bill as it moves through the Legislature,” Lester Duhe, press secretary of Attorney General Liz Murrill said. “The Attorney General is committed to protecting the people of Louisiana from the dangers of illegal immigration, caused by Joe Biden’s open border policies.”
NY v. Trump: Jury to continue deliberations for 2nd day in unprecedented case

A New York jury will continue deliberations for a second day Thursday in the historic and unprecedented criminal trial of former President Trump. Judge Juan Merchan delivered jurors instructions to consider charges brought against the former president and presumptive Republican presidential nominee. Merchan on Wednesday afternoon instructed the jury not to discuss or research the case. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged Trump with 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all counts. NY V. TRUMP: DEFENSE SAYS PROSECUTORS ‘DID NOT MEET THE BURDEN OF PROOF,’ FORMER PRESIDENT IS ‘INNOCENT’ Court resumes at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. During deliberations Wednesday, the jury sent two notes to the judge, including a request to hear his instructions again about how to consider evidence. The jury also asked to hear testimony again from former American Media, Inc. CEO David Pecker and ex-Trump attorney Michael Cohen. Merchan said the court was still looking to locate the requested testimony. Merchan estimated it would take approximately 30 minutes to read back. The jury can decide if it wants to stay until 6 p.m. Thursday evening to continue its deliberations, if necessary. Trump spoke to reporters after the first day of deliberations. NY V. TRUMP: PROSECUTION SAYS THEY HAVE PRESENTED ‘POWERFUL EVIDENCE’ AGAINST FORMER PRESIDENT “You have a very, very — I mean — what is very unfair is that I’m not campaigning. In this room all day long, from morning to night in the Biden witch hunt,” Trump said. Trump lamented “a lot of key witnesses” were not called by the prosecution he says should have been. He didn’t name names due to his gag order. “Because of the gag order, I won’t go down into individual names, but you have a lot of big players, very big players that would have solved their problem or actually would have given us the win. We already have the win. … If we had a fair judge, this case would have been over a long time ago,” Trump said. “The other thing, the confusion is nobody knows what the crime is because there’s no crime. Nobody knows what the crime is. The DA didn’t name the crime. They don’t know what the crime is. That’s what the problem is. It’s a disgrace. “This thing ought to be ended immediately. The judge ought to end it and save his reputation.”
