Florida congressman helps 13 more Americans escape Haiti, swipes at Biden ‘pattern of abandonment’
A Florida Republican congressman says he has helped another 13 Americans evacuate Haiti, vowing that U.S. citizens “deserve support from their government” and “not the pattern of abandonment this [Biden] administration has shown.” Rep. Cory Mills wrote on X that the Americans were airlifted from Port-au-Prince, which has become overrun by violent gangs in recent weeks despite Prime Minister Ariel Henry declaring that he would step down. “It’s with great pride I announce that our team successfully conducted another rescue of 13 Americans out of PAP Haiti,” Mills said, his second in the country after extracting 10 U.S. citizens last week. On Sunday afternoon, 30 Americans landed in Miami after being evacuated from the northern Haiti city of Cap-Haïtien on a U.S. government-chartered flight. CONGRESSMAN EVACUATES 10 AMERICANS FROM CRIME-RAVAGED HAITI State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel said Monday that nearly 1,000 Americans have filled out a “crisis intake form” seeking assistance in Haiti. “It is not hyperbole to say that this is one of the most dire humanitarian situations in the world,” Patel added. “Gang violence continues to make the security situation in Haiti untenable, and it is a region that demands our attention.” HAITI, US EMBASSY ENTRANCE AREA PLUNGE INTO DARKNESS AS VANDALS ATTACK POWER PLANT AND SUBSTATIONS The 10 Americans evacuated by Mills from Haiti last week had worked at the Have Faith Orphanage in the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince. “This mission reiterates a disturbing reality under President Biden’s leadership: American lives are continually jeopardized,” Mills told Fox News Digital at the time. “I have led missions to rescue Americans multiple times when Joe Biden has deserted them.” “There’s a clear pattern of abandonment,” Mills added, citing his rescue missions in Afghanistan following the U.S. military drawdown in 2021 and the rescue of Americans from Israel in late 2023. “Yet again, this group was left behind by Biden and his State Department after requesting their help in-country.” Fox News’ Landon Mion contributed to this report.
American Cancer Society finds ‘homophobia’ and ‘discrimination’ can ‘increase cancer risk’ in LGBTQ+ people
A leading cancer research organization released a first-of-its-kind study outlining how LGBTQ+ individuals face an “elevated prevalence” of certain risk factors linked to the disease. According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), there are certain “minority stress” factors associated with LGBTQ+ individuals, such as smoking, excess body weight, HIV and access to gender transition surgical procedures that exacerbate their vulnerability to developing cancer. “Perhaps the greatest health disparity faced by LGBTQ+ communities is the presumption-of-care gap, which is the fear that a provider will refuse care due to gender identity or sexual orientation,” the organization found in its 2024 Cancer Facts and Figures report. TEENAGE BRAIN CANCER PATIENT MISSES HOMECOMING, SO THE HOSPITAL THROWS A SURPRISE DANCE FOR HER In a statement to Fox News Digital, ACS said the new LGBTQ+ section of the study “is meant to start the conversation around the need to improve the routine collection and reporting of sexual orientation and gender identity data at all levels of health care.” There are currently nine states where providers can refuse to perform gender transition procedures for transgender people. The 84-page report also found that compared to the general public, “LGBTQ+ cancer survivors are more likely to have poor physical and mental health, have higher prevalence of cigarette smoking and heavy alcohol use, and frequently experience homophobia and discomfort expressed by health care providers.” LGBTQ+ individuals face a barrage of “minority stress,” including experiences of “overt prejudice, rejection, discrimination, and internalized homophobia.” “More than half of LGBTQ+ adults have experienced harassment, including slurs, microaggressions, sexual harassment, and violence, and 1 in 3 have experienced discrimination simply trying to use the bathroom,” the report notes. “This discrimination is most common among people of color and extends to health care settings.” “Exposure to these stressors may lead to increased prevalence of mental health or substance use disorders and unhealthy behaviors that increase cancer risk,” the report stated. MORE YOUNGER PEOPLE ARE RECEIVING CANCER DIAGNOSES, STUDY FINDS — ESPECIALLY THIS TYPE Lesbians and bisexual women who are overweight are also at a greater risk for 12 different types of cancer, including uterine, pancreatic and breast. Gay men are also more likely to get preventative screenings for colorectal cancer, with 67% getting screened compared to 58% of straight men. The report notes that while “everyone is at risk” of developing cancer, 88% of people diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. are older than 50, and 57% are 65 and older. Certain behaviors, such as “smoking, having excess body weight, drinking alcohol, and eating an unhealthy diet,” greatly increase the risk of cancer. The report’s section that includes statistics of risk factors is based on the National Health Interview Survey for information on sexual orientation and the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System for gender identity across the U.S., which are both orchestrated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it noted. CANCER RISK RISES WITH THIS LITTLE-KNOWN SYNDROME. HERE’S HOW TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE THE GENETIC CONDITION The study comes as other medical groups have recently taken steps to be more “inclusive” of the LGBTQ+ community and push for widespread access to sex changes and hormone therapy for transgenders. Earlier this month, the American Psychological Association (APA) announced a new policy urging clinics to provide “unobstructed access” to gender-transitioning treatments for children. The American Medical Association (AMA) also states on its website that “improving access to gender-affirming care is an important means of improving health outcomes for the transgender population.” “Receipt of gender-affirming care has been linked to dramatically reduced rates of suicide attempts, decreased rates of depression and anxiety, decreased substance use, improved HIV medication adherence and reduced rates of harmful self-prescribed hormone use,” the organization claimed. Meanwhile, more than half of the members of the World Health Organization’s transgender health policy committee have no medical background and many are gender identity activists, a report in January found. Sen Graham touts Trump plan for Ukraine loan in overseas meeting with Zelenskyy
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., promoted former President Trump’s plan for a loan to Ukraine, rather than aid, to continue supporting the country in their war with Russia during his meeting in Ukraine with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday. “I informed him that given the crisis at the United States’ southern border and our overwhelming debt, President Trump’s idea of turning aid from the United States into a no-interest, waivable loan is the most likely path forward,” Graham announced Monday night. A spokesperson for Graham said the visit to Ukraine wasn’t on Trump’s orders, but that the two had discussed his plan for loans rather than foreign aid. LIEBERMAN DINGS SCHUMER OVER NETANYAHU REMARKS: WOULD HE DO THAT TO SUNAK OR ZELENSKYY? Trump unveiled the idea last month, saying the U.S. should not give money to other countries anymore as foreign aid, but as loans instead. “It can be loaned on extraordinarily good terms, like no interest and an unlimited life, but a loan nevertheless,” Trump wrote on Truth Social at the time. The South Carolina senator did not vote in favor of the $95 billion aid package designed to support Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, citing domestic concerns about the southern border. “It is clear Ukrainians appreciate the United States’ support. I know Americans want to help our friends and allies, but I also believe we must consider our economic situation as we help others,” Graham continued on Monday. In a statement to Fox News Digital, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said, “President Trump has repeatedly stated that a top priority in his second term will be to quickly negotiate an end to the Russia-Ukraine war. Also, President Trump believes European nations should be paying more of the cost of the conflict, as the U.S. has paid significantly more, which is not fair to our taxpayers.” MARK MILLEY AND FORMER CENTCOM COMMANDER TO FACE GRILLING IN CONGRESS OVER BIDEN’S AFGHANISTAN WITHDRAWAL “He will do what is necessary to restore peace and rebuild American strength and deterrence on the world stage, and he is the only person who can make that happen. It’s unclear whether Zelenskyy is in support of the shift proposed by Trump and reiterated by the senator, but the Ukrainian president shared a video of his and Graham’s meeting on X, formerly known as Twitter. According to Zelenskyy, “We discussed further comprehensive assistance for Ukraine.” He added that U.S. and other international support is “now more important than ever” as Ukraine looks to implement its plans to beat Russian occupation of its territories. CONGRESSIONAL GRIDLOCK COULD CAUSE US TO RUN OUT OF VISAS FOR AFGHAN ALLIES Graham additionally said he is “urging the Biden Administration to send longer-range artillery, accelerate F-16 training for the Ukrainians, and designate Russia a state sponsor of terrorism under U.S. law.” The White House did not provide comment when contacted by Fox News Digital. The $95 billion aid package passed the Senate last month, without the support of Graham. But the measure has stalled in the House, where Republican leadership is unlikely to bring it for a vote. Several attempts to bypass the speaker have started among representatives in the form of discharge petitions to force legislation out of committee and onto the floor. A petition would require a majority of members to sign it in order to bypass leadership.
Arkansas Gov. Sanders deploys National Guard to aid Texas with migrant crisis: ‘Ready to assist’
FIRST ON FOX: Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is sending troops to the U.S.-Mexico border to help Texas in its efforts to tackle the ongoing migrant crisis — just as Texas’ efforts to tackle illegal immigration got put on ice. The Arkansas National Guard will send 40 Guardsmen to support Texas National Guard efforts between April 1 and May 30, Fox News Digital is told. The troops will be under the jurisdiction of Gov. Sanders, but the Texas National Guard remains the lead agency. Arkansas is one of a number of GOP-led states that have deployed troops to Texas in the past. The Natural State deployed approximately 80 Guardsmen to the border in July last year and 40 in the summer of 2021. Those deployed to the southern border by Arkansas will enhance the Texas National Guard’s surveillance and reconnaissance abilities and provide increased detection and tracking capabilities to their partners, the governor’s office said. TEXAS REP WANTS TO FORCE SANCTUARY CITIES TO COOPERATE WITH ICE, URGES BIDEN TO TAKE ‘AGGRESSIVE ACTION’ The show of support comes as Texas remains locked in multiple legal battles with the Biden administration over its unilateral efforts to tackle the migrant crisis, including its building of razor wire along the border and a recent illegal immigration law allowing state and local law enforcement to arrest illegal immigrants. That law was just dealt another blow by the Supreme Court on Monday, when it extended a block on it in response to a request by the administration. The Biden administration sued to strike down the measure, arguing it would usurp core federal authority on immigration and create chaos. In a statement to Fox News Digital, Sanders accused the administration of opening the border “to an invasion of illegal immigrants, drugs, and human trafficking and…criticizing Texas for stepping up where his administration has failed.” “I’ve seen the crisis our President created firsthand and I know the incredible men and women of the Arkansas Guard can help supplement Texas’ efforts to keep our border secure and our states safe,” she said. “The Arkansas National Guard has a rich history of helping neighboring states in a crisis,” Maj. There was a record of 2.4 million migrant encounters in FY 23, and December saw more than 300,000 encounters for the first time in recorded history. Meanwhile, disruption in Haiti has raised concerns about a new migrant wave coming from the Caribbean country – primarily by sea, but Haitians do also enter the U.S. via the land border. Republicans have blamed the policies of the Biden administration, while the administration says it needs more funding and reforms from Congress in order to fix what it says is a “broken” system. It has called for the passage of a bipartisan Senate bill that would increase staffing and funding to the border. DHS recently unveiled a budget that includes funding for 350 new Border Patrol agents, 301 additional processing coordinators and 150 new CBP officers. “It’s real simple, it’s time to act, it is long past time to act,” the president said at the border this month, urging passage of the Senate bill. “It’s time for us to move on this, we can’t wait any longer.”

Pew Research released a poll this week dissecting the religious angle of Trump’s support base and how voters perceive the former president’s spiritual beliefs. Only 8% of voters supporting Trump said they believe he is “very religious,” according to the Pew poll. TRUMP CLAIMS ANY JEW WHO VOTES DEMOCRAT ‘HATES THEIR RELIGION’ AFTER SCHUMER SPEECH ON SENATE FLOOR Approximately 51% of voters supporting the former president said they believed he was “somewhat religious” and 38% said he is “not too religious” or “not religious at all.” Despite lukewarm assessments of his religiosity, 51% of Trump supporters said the former president stands up “a great deal” or “quite a bit” for religious beliefs similar to their own. The effort is being led by three conservative PACs — the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) PAC, the Keystone Renewal PAC and The Sentinel Action Fund — and will be backed by a “historic” eight-figure investment that they say will put Republicans in a strong position to challenge Democrats’ advantage when it comes to voting by mail. “RSLC’s significant investment in the early and absentee voting process in 2023 was a key component of our successes in crucial battleground districts. We have the blueprint and, thanks to this historic investment, we are now prepared to build on that success,” RSLC PAC President Dee Duncan told Fox News Digital. BIDEN CAMPAIGN REVEALS ‘AGGRESSIVE’ SWING STATE STRATEGY, ADMITS BEATING TRUMP WILL ‘TAKE RELENTLESS EFFORT’ “This will be the largest and most comprehensive Republican vote-by-mail effort in Pennsylvania history, it will be a vital part of our Party’s success this November, and it would not be possible without our partners who share our same goal of electing Republicans up and down the ballot.,” he added. President Biden is reportedly becoming increasingly frustrated and worried over his re-election efforts. Biden began to “shout and swear” in a January meeting when informed that his poll numbers had dipped in the battleground states of Michigan and Georgia over his handling of the Israel-Hamas war, a lawmaker familiar with the situation told NBC News. Biden’s alleged outburst came as he has long believed he is not getting the credit he deserves in several areas, the outlet noted. Privately, he regularly pushes aides about what parts of his accomplishments he should highlight in different states, another source told the publication. The report also noted how he is surrounded by “protective aides who want to minimize the chances of a flub,” something he has dealt with in recent months as he has made several blunders that have called into question his mental acuity. HILLARY CLINTON SAYS BIDEN’S AGE IS A LEGITIMATE ISSUE: ‘PEOPLE HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO CONSIDER IT’ “The man’s been successful for decades in Congress and became vice president and president,” a source told NBC News. “If you try to change the person, you’re making a mistake. Let the president go out there and do his thing.” Biden’s frustration follows other Democrats fretting over his age and energy. According to past reports, he has consistently held several closed-door meetings with his top donors to alleviate their anxieties about the 2024 election. Biden’s attempts to suppress their anxieties have allegedly occurred since the launch of his re-election campaign last spring. The meetings took place at the White House and included at least six sessions, each consisting of between four and eight people. They covered various issues, such as how to handle former President Trump. Individuals familiar with the matter told the Washington Post in January that Biden’s age and energy were also among their concerns. “It just gives him some seasoning. That is good. It gives him energy, which is very good,” they said. “And these people who are wondering if he has lost a step, they leave and are like, ‘That was great.’” DAVID AXELROD WARNS BIDEN’S ‘AGE ISSUE’ IS CONSISTENT CONCERN AMONG VOTERS: ‘ONE THING YOU CAN’T REVERSE’ The worries of his top supporters aligned with those of other prominent Democrats, including Hillary Clinton, who has said Biden’s age is an issue and people have a right to consider it. Clinton made the comments last May during a Financial Times panel after the moderator referenced an incident when Biden almost tumbled down a flight of stairs. “There was that heart-stopping moment when he almost fell over coming down the stairs a day or two ago,” the outlet’s editor said. “He didn’t use a railing, and Jill wasn’t there with him.” “Every time that happens, your heart is in your mouth because these things could be consequential. Is that a concern?” he asked. “It’s a concern for anyone,” Clinton responded. “We’ve had presidents who had fallen before who were a lot younger, and people didn’t go into heart palpitations.” “But his age is an issue, and people have every right to consider it,” Clinton added. “But, you know, he has this great saying – and I think he’s right – don’t judge him for running against the Almighty but against the alternative. I am of the camp that I think he’s determined to run; he has a good record that, three years ago, people would not have predicted would have gotten done.” David Axelrod, a former adviser to President Obama, also raised concerns about Biden’s age among voters in November.
