Ashley Moody, R-Fla., intends to introduce legislation that would crack down on commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) going to illegal immigrants and bolster English proficiency requirements to get a commercial license. “If you’re a commercial truck driver in America, being able to competently read the road signs in English isn’t optional… it’s the job,” Moody said in a statement to Fox News Digital. BLUE STATES DEFLECT BLAME IN TRUMP PROBE AFTER ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT TRUCKER CRASH KILLS 3 IN FLORIDA Moody’s bill, the Safer Truckers Act of 2025, comes on the heels of a tragedy in Florida. Harjinder Singh, an illegal immigrant from India, allegedly struck and killed three people in a tractor-trailer while making an illegal U-turn on a Florida highway on Aug. 12. The trailer jackknifed and collided with a minivan, killing all three of its passengers. Singh held a CDL from California and was previously licensed by the state of Washington. BLUE STATE INVESTIGATES HOW ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT TRUCKER GOT LICENSE BEFORE DEADLY FLORIDA CRASH He was charged with three counts of vehicular homicide and three counts of manslaughter. Some states allow migrants to obtain a regular driver’s license regardless of citizenship status, but CDLs are governed by federal law, which stipulates that proof of being a lawful permanent resident or an Employment Authorization Document are required to get a commercial license. Fox News Digital reached out to the offices of Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif, and Gov. Bob Ferguson, D-Wash., for comment but did not immediately hear back. It would also codify requirements for states to report their efforts to uphold English proficiency requirements in line with President Donald Trump’s executive order from earlier this year requiring agencies to enforce such provisions. Federal investigators said Singh had failed English proficiency and road sign tests prior to the collision. Should states not enforce English proficiency requirements, their eligibility for federal funding could be jeopardized. “States must ensure that folks are safe on our roadways, and if they don’t, they should forfeit federal funding,” Moody said.

Buddy Carter, R-Ga., who introduced the measure, accused Tlaib of “vilifying her colleagues, endangering the lives of Jewish people, and celebrating terrorism.” “Her conduct is beneath that of a civilized person, let alone a member of Congress. I am calling on the House of Representatives to censure her remarks and put Democrats on notice for enabling and cheering on antisemitism in their own party,” Carter told Fox News Digital. They send me videos and messages of people protesting in front of their district offices, people showing up at their town halls, and I was like, we’re not all related. New ICE detention facility ‘Louisiana Lockup’ opens at notorious prison
FIRST ON FOX – A new Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility dubbed “Louisiana Lockup” is now open at the notorious Louisiana State Penitentiary to house some of the “worst of the worst” criminal illegal migrants. Fifty-one migrants have already been moved to the facility, a Department of Homeland Security official told Fox News. The prison, known as Angola prison, sits on 18,000 acres, and was once named the “bloodiest prison in the South” for its harsh conditions. According to the Angola Museum, the prison earned the nickname in 1962 because stabbings became so common. Inmates sued the state in the early 1970s over the harsh conditions, and a federal court mandated reform. DHS PLANS ‘CORNHUSKER CLINK’ DETENTION CENTER AS TRUMP EXPANDS IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is partnering with Louisiana to use a portion of the prison to expand detention space by 416 beds. The funding comes from the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which allows ICE to add 80,000 new detention beds to help ramp up deportations. The detainees will be housed in an unused section called Camp J, which was once known as the “Dungeon” because most of the cells were used for solitary confinement. In late July, Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry declared a state emergency to allow expedited repairs of Camp J. “Louisiana Lockup” is the latest facility to be converted into an ICE detention facility, after “Alligator Alcatraz” in Florida, “Cornhusker Clink” In Nebraska and “Speedway Slammer” in Indiana. Likewise, the U.S. started training Polish aviators to operate the F-35 in May at Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Arkansas. All crew members participating in the flyover are American. Those flying the F-16 aircraft are from the D.C. Air National Guard based out of Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, and the F-35 pilots are from Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida. A missing man formation occurs during a flyover when one aircraft breaks off from the rest, recognizing the missing or fallen service member. This isn’t the first time a flyover has occurred when the Polish president has visited the White House. One was also conducted in 2019 during Trump’s first term when then-Polish President Andrzej Duda arrived in Washington. GOP lawmakers aim to hike penalties on ‘radical Left’ as ICE attacks rise by over 800%
FIRST ON FOX: House Republicans are advancing legislation to stiffen penalties for people convicted of assaulting or impeding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, escalating the partisan battle over illegal immigration and crime enforcement. Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, introduced the “Protect and Respect ICE Act,” backed by Reps. Brad Knott, R-N.C., and Diana Harshbarger, R-Tenn. The measure would double the maximum prison sentence and fines for assaulting, resisting or impeding an ICE agent or employee. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported in July that ICE officials experienced an 830% increase in assaults between late January and mid-July compared to the same period in 2024. A Hinson spokesperson told Fox News Digital the bill is intended to deter violence by anti-ICE protesters targeting federal agents. Hinson tied the surge in attacks to progressive activists. “Instead of standing with law enforcement, the radical Left sides with dangerous illegal aliens and even wants to strip ICE agents of the gear that keeps them safe. That’s unacceptable,” she told Fox News Digital. “Anyone who assaults an ICE agent must face the harshest possible punishment.” Congressional Republicans and the Trump administration have already surged resources to ICE since regaining control of the federal government earlier this year. Grand juries in Washington, D.C. refused to indict two people accused of threatening the life of President Donald Trump, prosecutors confirmed to Fox News Digital Tuesday. Officials from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington said both cases involved threats against the president while jurors rejected charges, preventing the cases from moving forward to trial. One case involved Nathalie Rose Jones, who is accused of posting online threats to assassinate Trump and later repeating those threats directly to Secret Service agents during an interview. This is the essence of a politicized jury. The system here is broken on many levels. Instead of the outrage that should be engendered by a specific threat to kill the president, the grand jury in D.C. refuses to even let the judicial process begin. In a second case, another grand jury declined to indict Edward Alexander Dana, who allegedly threatened to kill Trump while being arrested last month on unrelated charges of vandalism in Northwest D.C. Then, magistrate Judge G. Michael Harvey denied a request by prosecutors to keep the jury’s decision sealed, ordering the disclosure of the “no true” bill to Dana’s attorney. Dana’s defense attorney, Elizabeth Mullin, told Fox News Digital she had “never seen anything like it” in over 20 years of practice. “This is the result of them taking weak cases and trying to shoehorn them into federal district court,” Mullin said. Two key clips, part of a nearly 34,000-file drop by the House Oversight Committee Tuesday night, revealed the highly contested minute missing from surveillance footage filmed outside Epstein’s cell block in the Metropolitan Correctional Center.
