Chaitanyananda Saraswati, a 62-year-old self-styled godman who is among the trustees of an institute in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area, was arrested on Sunday after being on the run for days. Several of his alleged aides have also been held by the police. Read on to know more.

After several days of interrogation by officials of the CID, Goswami and Mahanta were arrested by the police on Thursday. This comes a day after police held Shyamkanu Mahanta — the main organiser of the North East India Festival in Singapore — and Zubeen’s manager Siddharth Sharma.

According to officials, the work on the Rajasthan section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is nearly finished, with approximately 35 km of the route still under construction.
