Jammu and Kashmir students led massive protest in Sopore which turned violent on Tuesday, forcing police to intervene. Police have taken action against violent protestors. The students have alleged misconduct on the part of a school teacher.

Gandhi’s remarks come amid ongoing workers’ protests over minimum wage demands, which turned violent on Monday with stone-pelting and torching of vehicles after an altercation with the police.

The explosion reportedly occurred around 2 pm in a boiler tube at the Vedanta Limited power plant in Singhitarai village. After receiving initial information, local administration and police teams rushed to the site and launched rescue efforts.
