Kerala’s new Chief Minister has been announced after over 10 days of speculation. VD Satheesan became Kerala Chief Minister after Congress announced his name. In his first response after the announcement, Satheesan vowed for “new era, a new Kerala.”

ECI announced the conduct of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Phase-III of electoral rolls across 16 States and three Union Territories, covering over 36 crore electors in a phased manner. In Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, where the schedule will be announced separately.
