Mumbai has reported its first death due to Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), a rare neurological disorder, as Maharashtra’s total death toll from the disease rises to eight.

Acharya Satyendra Das was admitted to the High Dependency Unit (HDU) of the Neurology ward in SGPGI, Lucknow in critical condition on February 3 after he suffered a stroke.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Alok Verma fixed March 24 as the date for the next hearing in the case. Gandhi will have to be present in the court.
