On Saturday, Wangchuk, 59, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike for over three weeks, was forcibly removed by the police from the Jantar Mantar and shifted to a government hospital.

Wangchuk — an engineer, education reformer, and climate activist from Ladakh — has been on a hunger strike demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Noting how the recent days have seen an increase in levels of instability and conflict in Iran, the Embassy in its revised advisory said, “Indian nationals intending to travel to Iran for any purpose should postpone travel for the time being, until the security environment improves.”
