Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday said it is registering FIRs against two social media handles for allegedly spreading rumours in connection with the recent factory workers’ protest in Noida.

As Noida has been witnessing violent protests amid demand for hike in wages, the Uttar Pradesh government has brought in a new set of labour rules to ensure welfare measures such as well improving wages, and others for industrial workers in Gautam Buddha Nagar.

The Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam ties women’s reservation to the new census and delimitation. Due to census delays, the Centre plans to proceed with the 2011 census data for delimitation and implementation of one-third reservation for women legislators.
