According to INCOIS, the epicentre was in the Bay of Bengal, roughly 225 km off the coast of Kakinada at a depth of 10 km.

A second postmortem was ordered to clear a crucial forensic dispute from the first autopsy. The board carried out the second postmortem on May 24 and also inspected the alleged site of the incident as part of its probe.

In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said, “We condemn the attack on the commercial vessel GFS Galaxy off the coast of Oman, earlier today. Of the 11 Indian nationals on board, 10 have been rescued so far, while 1 Indian National is reportedly missing.”
