The news comes after the trust held a meeting in Ayodhya earlier in the day. Rai and Mishra had tendered their resignations amid a scandal surrounding the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya over alleged embezzlement of donations.

The extradition of Nirav Modi, India’s fugitive diamond businessman, is soon expected after he lost the legal battle in the form of an appeal at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

The Ram temple trust accepted the resignations of Champat Rai as its general secretary and member Anil Mishra and appointed Krishna Mohan as interim general secretary of the temple trust.
