In the biggest update and relief to the Unnao rape case survivor, the Supreme Court stayed Delhi High Court’s order granting bail to Unnao rape case accused Kuldeep Singh Senger during the hearing on the case.

Anjel Chakma, a 24-year-old MBA student from Tripura, was brutally assaulted in Dehradun on December 9, allegedly due to racial hatred. Despite his brother surviving, Anjel succumbed to his injuries. Uttarakhand police arrested five suspects, with one still on the run.

The Supreme Court stressed that it must be assessed whether the 100?metre elevation threshold is scientifically sound and if a detailed geological inquiry is needed.
