A Bengaluru advocate and her live-in partner have been arrested for the alleged murder of her five-year-old daughter. Police are investigating the motive behind the crime and examining conflicting accounts of the child’s death.

Harsha Sunny was flying down from Bangkok and was stopped at the Mumbai airport as officials found her behaviour suspicious during routine surveillance. Customs officials said that Sunny arrived at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Thursday on an Air India flight.

The statement came on the first anniversary of the crash, which killed 260 people and injured several others. In its remarks, the AAIB said the investigation was underway and remained focused on an evidence-based assessment of all factors linked to the crash.
