The protests were held in support of the agitation called by the Cockroach Janta Party to press for former union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. The government announcement comes after the CJP threatened to launch a fresh protest over the police cases.

In a post on X, PM Modi said he had a “great interaction” with Chandana and Daka, adding that the “success of Vikram-1 naturally featured prominently” in their discussion.

The Assam government does not propose to take any further adverse action against the individuals involved in the protests, and the matter shall be treated as closed without any future proceedings on this account, as per the press note.
