Prime Minister’s Office has now been renamed to ‘Seva Tirth’ and Raj Bhavan and Raj Niwas will be now called Lok Bhavan and Lok Niwas, respectively. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has emphasised on ‘seva’ of the people.

The government said it had rolled back the mandate because “the number of users who have downloaded the app (over six lakh in 24 hours and 1.4 crore users overall) has been increasing rapidly.” It added that the preinstallation order was “meant to accelerate this process.”

Earlier a deep depression, the storm has weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area along the North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coastline. But it has continued to bring repeated bursts of heavy downpour over Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, and northern coastal districts since early Tuesday.
